Green Island is my favorite birding spot. The best part is that I have the place to myself every time I am there. You never know what you are going to see.
A small group og hooded mergansers including 2 males and 1 female. The male on the left does not look very happy about something.
A pair of sandhill cranes in the middle of nowhere. I could tell they were there by the call but they stayed firmly put until I got close. I learned a vcaluable lesson after this shot. Use tick spray in the woods. I had so many ticks on me that I had to get the oral antibiotic to ward off lyme disease.

Shuttle pour Galena. Tres pratique. Dommage que nous Ă©tions prĂ©sents un dimanche, le service termine trop tĂŽt le dimanche ;) Chauffeur Brian : gentil, ponctuel, courtois et gĂ©nĂ©reux (histoire et “monuments “ de Galena)

Really cozy and cute hotel. Friendly staff and the other guests were great too. Definitely family oriented. The only issue we had was that it seemed like they cater to the weekend guests. The hot tub was luke warm on Monday but was very hot and enjoyable the night before. They ran out of pancakes ...

Only complaint is there was only hot/warm water at times. Lots of times water was luke warm at best. Other than that had a good experience.

Quite the quaint and charming place. Decorated vintage style and is super cute. Went with a friend and we both found the beds to be really comfortable! This is a 2nd story unit. Hosts had individual snacks for us and Kcups for the kuerig machine which was a nice touch! Parking was available right ...
