I don't do a lot of reviews, but you asked so here goes.
We arrived in the middle of a renovation. The staff was pleased to tell us we were the first people to stay in one of the newly renovated room on 8. The effect of that was strong paint fumes, a toilet that leaked all night and a shower that leaked in the morning. Where the ice and water machine was indicated was a alcove stubbed out for plumbing and electrical.
The room was large, pleasant and well-decorated with a great ocean view.
The staff was courteous and friendly. The entrance, lobby, and pool/beach area was resort-quality.
I never found the four restaurants advertised on Expedia. There was a breakfast pastry kiosk on the property. For dining we were directed to an off-property restaurant with a great view and a limited, over-priced, low-quality menu.
You conspired with Expedia to bury charges. Expedia proudly claims the price they show is the price you pay. At checkout, the clerk informed me he would be collecting and additional $56 "resort fee." I asked about that and he said if I checked the Expedia page, in small letters on the bottom right was a note that added, "$50 dollar fee collected on sight."
A business that operates without integrity in that manner is enough to be a deal-breaker for me forever. It will be a nice place when fixed up, but you are not offering something so wonderful and rare that it can't be found elsewhere.
