So I would love to give you all 5 stars: The staff was friendly through our stay, the room was quiet, comfortable and clean, and the pool was clean and obviously well-taken care of.
However, I really couldnât give 5 stars because of the gnats in the bathroom. Iâm not sure where they were coming from, as the window was closed. Also, there were a couple live bugs on the a/c unit. Please get an exterminator involved if needed!
Despite this one issue, weâd stay again. Hopefully the big problem will have been taken care of by then.
The tv didnât work first night and air conditioning was also not cooling. The front desk clerk was a young man who could not find another room to move us to and suggested we go to alpine the next town over but it was midnight and bad weather but hoped âhoped I appreciated thatâ which was so condescending .
Elevator was and has been out of service since 2024. The hotel has no rooms on street level and is very difficult to load baggage to your room. Also anyone with a handicap disability has big difficulty getting to their room. Front desk seemed unconcerned and no bellman available to help with luggage.
Coffee is supposed to be available in the lobby but was never hot. They provided packages muffins that were not fresh. We wonât stay here again.
If you're looking for a genuinely historic Marfa experience, this is the place! In fact, we had no idea of the history of this hotel and the movie "Giant". It was all very interesting, and it wasn't until we checked out that the clerk noted we had stayed in the very room James Dean stayed in during the filming.
For its age, this hotel is beautiful inside and out, although the rooms and bathrooms are small by today's standards. Our room even had a (very) small balcony, but the view from it was less than desirable.
We enjoyed the beautiful sitting areas and shopping in the hotel's lobby.
The restaurant served a delicious dinner, but we were disappointed with the lack of actual breakfast options (besides "coffee shops", which are plentiful) in Marfa and wish that there was breakfast offered at this hotel.
Enjoyed our visit at Hotel Paisano. Elevator was out of commission. My wife felt the toilet was not cleaned well. But itâs a beautiful property. And staff was great.
Very small room and bathroom. Old and not well kept. Bed was comfortable.Toilet was loose and wobbled. Shower was clogged and dirty. It looked like they were in the middle of unclogging the tub and forgot the hair they pulled out and just left it on the walls. Had to shower in standing water. Informed front desk twice and it was never handled. Very noisy hallways. You hear everything. People talking and going in and out of the rooms. Was not worth the money spent.
We came here for our 26th wedding anniversary. We enjoy going to historic hotels. The grounds and building was beautiful. Check in and house keeping were great the room was great with patio and fireplace which we used. The only negative was when went to our dinner at the Jett Grill, which we booked online. The girl there was very condesending and said we didnt have a rezervation and we must have done it wrong or booked the wrong day. Though it was not busy and no problem with us getting a table . She made us feel like it was a problem. Then when she made our drinks she left ours sitting there forever on the bar, waiting for our server, instead of bringing it to us. The server, Derick, was great. He apologized even though we told h8m ut wasnt his fault. He gave us excellent service, and ket trying to make up for her cause he knew we were a little upset. Then my husband tried to get drink from the machines later and it wouldnt take bills. He went to desk for change and was told, it doesnt work anyway. He could have offered to get him soda from the bar or kitchen. But no. Other than that stay was good.
