Great location (behind Arndale and next to Affleck's Palace on the edge of the Northern Quarter, which is filled with bars, restaurants and cafes. Great staff made us very welcome (thank you Edward, Dave and Alison), answered any questions, offered advice and sorted out our oven when it didn't work. (They offered us another room when the oven didn't work but we were settled in. So, Edward went away and cooked our pizza for us and brought it back piping hot and perfectly cooked!). We were in apartment 503 at the back on the top floor. A double room and a single (perfect for me and my mum), with a combined sitting room and kitchenette. It looked out across the roofs of the city and the flats in the converted buildings opposite - all of life on view. Apartment was very clean and had everything,we needed. It was a bit hot with the sun shining straight in and warming things up (perhaps an unusal occurence in Manchester?). But with windows open, blinds closed during the day and fans at night we were comfortable. Reasonably quiet and would be very quiet with windows shut. One night it was the England/Scotland match and there was a party on the flat's roof top balcony in the opposite building that went on until the early hours. Luckily, I had earplugs with me. So, mostly slept through it. It was fine on other nights.
Overall, very good value and a lovely stay in Manchester. Will use again if/when we come back to Manchester.
