House needs care. Basement extremely smelly. Ran the dehumidifier, but no real help. No cleaning had been done on porches or deck. Blackstone was unusable. It was rusted and had standing water. Grill was nasty as well.
Just wanted to take a second and leave a review for anyone thinking of staying here. Family had a wonderful time here over the Christmas holiday. Great communication with the owners check-in process was super simple. The house was decorated for Christmas wonderfully. I donât normally leave reviews, But I do read them and those with basic facts I find most Useful. The house is not brand new so is there the occasional this or that thatâs not perfect or working exactly as it should of course but in general, it is very clean, very nice, well decorated and well provided for everything that you would need for the week. We were extremely lucky to have the tiniest dusting of snow on the ground When we got there so the kids were able to see snow for Christmas. Getting there the last mile or so of road up the mountain is not paved but well-maintained . Itâs a little arrow, and if it was snowing or ice, I would suggest minimum four-wheel Drive but while we were there, we did see plenty of people in front wheel drive rentals so Certainly nothing to worry about. The property is beautiful. The creek was an amazing feature. The hot tub was ready to use, though we never did get a chance to use it. We would definitely stay again and recommend it To our closest friends.
Beautiful setting high up in the mountains! Cabin is a home away from home, everything we could have asked for for our family vacation. Highly recommend
10/10 would stay again!!
Road is a bit rough, but worth the trek.
Host is extremely responsive and helpful.
Internet worked better than expected.
Already booking a trip/stay for next year!
Beautiful Property, We had a great time at the Cabin
3 kids under 6 who loved the creek that runs beside the house. Fire pit that we used one night, they supplied the wood, that was nice.
35 Miles from Asheville so we toured the Biltmore one day. Cherokee is 15 miles away, we did a day trip there took in Indian play and village and left a donation at the Casino.. The house needs some maintenance and a deep cleaning not just turned over for next quest. The basement bedroom is very damp. I think who owns it needs to check it out..
We arrived with mice poop all over front porch. A heater was on in basement couldnât turn off. maintenance guy came and turned off switch on electric box. Kitchen stove hood didnât work. i just want owner to know, none of this bothered us but we have been landlords for 40 years and used a management co once that never told us stuff just put someone else in. The place is really great just needs some maintenance.
We would stay again
The cabin was great inside and out. The only thing was the trash process. In the email that i received said to put all trash outside in the containers. When we got to the cabin it stated that we were responsible for taking the trash to the dump which was 14 miles round trip. If you would just update the email so that the guest are aware of the process. But other then that it was a great cabin.
We had an absolutely fantastic time again at this cabin! The location is perfect - nestled by a peaceful creek, providing a secluded and serene atmosphere. Despite its seclusion, its close enough to town, allowing us easy access to activities and amenities. Plus, the WiFi was reliable, ensuring we could stay connected when needed. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a peaceful and connected mountain getaway! My family always has a great time here and we will definitely be back again!
None of the video games are working there are several appliances that need repair and there was no AC location is really nice just needs better up keep
This was a wonderful experience! The cabin was cozy and clean. It perfectly fit our large family. We loved the property, the creek was so fun to play around and explore with kids. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. Maggie Valley was a great location, good food, good fun, good hikes.
We just stayed with 13 to be close to Cataloochee for a few days of skiing. The size of home and the way itâs laid out worked perfect for our group.
Plenty of drinking glasses and coffee cups, silverware and plates (a little short on bowls if youâre planning soups or anything).
Lots of blankets and quilts to use. We had a space heater in each room to keep us warm at night. Took our own throw blankets to use when lounging and watching movies (great dvd collection too).
Brought our own bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soaps) which was a good thing.
Made good use of the game room (poker table) and hot tub was fantastic. Driveway was interesting but fine for trucks and SUVâs. Was difficult for one group with a 4 door sedan that rides low to the ground. Just a 20 minute drive to the ski slopes and Tube world. Would definitely stay here again!
The cabin was amazing. We had a family of 13, there was plenty of room. The only down side was phone service but we knew that when we rented. We had good family time.
We had to go in an clean each bathroom, they were very dirty. We spent Christmas đ together for the first time in the mountains. It was beautiful up there. After we finished opening the presents, a family member saw a dead mouse đ under the Christmas tree. That was very disappointing. Other than that we all had a wonderful time together. Mouse still there.
Awesome cabin! The first morning the coffee makers didnât work, and we notified the owner. We were called shortly after, and after venturing out to Soco Falls, we came back to a fancy coffee maker with plenty of coffee. All nine of us enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed the creek in the back. The road getting in was a little sketchy, but we managed.
The kids loved the backyard and creek that runs through the property. We had plenty of room for 3 families. We received the check in instructions in plenty of time. The cleaning service might want to move the couches and vacuum under them. Mouse traps should be checked. I donât like mice even if they are long dead.
The cabin was nice but we had many issues! The driveway to the property was almost inaccessible for our van the ruts in the drive were terrible and
this should have been posted on description. There was a huge mice problem and yellow jacket problem. The property manager was quick at responding but they just said for us to put out mice traps provided and dropped off bee spray for us to fix the problem ourselves. The keyless entry quit working and they brought a battery and left it in the porch railing for us to replace which we couldnât do due to no tools. The mouse poop covered the porches, patio furniture, kitchen floors and hutch. We will not be staying here again.
We really enjoyed the home. The creek was lovely, the kids enjoyed playing in it(also the adults did too). I was some dissatisfied with the cleaning of the house. The loft up stairs was very dusty, there were webs all over the bear statue. There were mice droppings several places, there was trash in the hot tub area and there were webs and lots of dust on the fan in the family area. Over all we really had a wonderful time. I would love to stay there again if the time comes. Now the road to the house was horrible, I was scared the bumps would send my daughter to early labor. Itâs a beautiful home and love hearing and playing in the creek.
My family and I stayed at this cabin this past week and it was an amazing experience. We were a little worried about the driveway but it was fine if we went slow (we had a Sienna and a Lexus SUV). The backyard is absolutely stunning. The creek and backyard are so pretty and so much fun for everyone to play in. It was like something out of a story book! We even got to see an elk eating some plants and roaming through the yard one evening. The cabin itself was perfect for our group size wise. The listing is correct - we couldn't receive or make any phone calls and texting was very spotty. The wifi was also spotty. We just checked all of that when we went into town. Other issue we found out on the first night is that if everyone tries to take a shower at once, there won't be enough hot water. We had to spread them out so just plan accordingly. Everyone in our family said we would love to come back to this cabin again and I've already sent the listing to two friends. Highly recommend!
Fire pit close to the creek. Near Blue Ridge Park Way that leads to Smokey Mountain NP, or Asheville the other way. The Hill Billy Festival in Maggie Valley was cool and I was able to help out the Cherokee Nation at their casino.
First let me say my family loves this cabin. We have been staying the last 5 years every summer. The yard is big and the steam in the back is wonderful. My 9 year old woke up every morning waiting to go to the swing under the back porch. We had Elk walk by while we were sitting on the front porch. I only have 1 complaint and I hope they can take care of it and that is the mice. We had 3 in traps dead, which is good, and several more running around the dining room.
