Disappointing stay at the Adina Berlin near Checkpoint Charlie. For a 4-star property at this price, the experience simply doesn't hold up — and I have the photos to back it up. Right on arrival: the room we were given had no cooktop, even though one was clearly listed in the description. We had to request a room change just to get what had been advertised. Maintenance and cleanliness: in the kitchen, a ceiling spotlight was left with bare wires hanging out, with a rust/water stain right next to it — concerning both electrically and as a sign of a leak. The bedroom ceiling was also cracked. On top of that, we found a long hair in the room, which doesn't inspire confidence in the cleaning. Comfort: the air conditioning didn't work (dated control unit, minimal settings) and the room was far too hot. The curtains are nowhere near blackout — light clearly leaks in along the sides from first light. The bedding is uncomfortable. Peace and quiet: very poor sound insulation, made worse by guests settling on the courtyard terrace early in the morning, right below the windows — guaranteed to wake you up. Other letdowns: very weak mobile signal throughout the property, and housekeeping showing up at 10am when check-out was at 11am. None of this is acceptable at a 4-star rate. Hard to recommend as it stands.
