I stayed at the Virginian for 2 nights as part of a business trip, and overall it was a great choice despite the few criticisms I’ll include here. The staff was super friendly and helpful, valet service was extremely easy, and there were some great complimentary inclusions as well! I needed to print documents and was able to in their library with no extra cost, and the WiFi was easy to use and not slow at all. The actual room was clean and beautiful, but the pillows were all too soft for support and firmer pillows were not available (this is only a problem if you’re picky about your pillows obviously). Additionally, the included shampoo/conditioner pumps were malfunctioning (again, this only matters if you plan to use them). Room service was super easy but tacks on a bunch of fees, so keep that in mind if you’re too lazy to go to the restaurants like me! I did not eat the food from the steakhouse but tried multiple dishes from the Skyline. The crab cakes weren’t very exciting and the seafood hush puppies were over-fried and had no seafood (they were also spicy, but I have very low tolerance for spice). I also had the glazed pork belly, which was charred on one side, and the burger that was ordered medium but came rare (that’s not important to me, but it may be to others).
So overall the stay was great, however I think at the price point for the “casual dining” AND with extra fees for room service, there should be a bit more attention to detail!
