I messaged the property owner before our visit to request the key code for the property be sent to my telephone number. I also tried to contact them by phone. But couldn’t get a reply.
On the day our rental should have started, I again tried to contact the property owner before check-in time and after check-in time to obtain a key code to access the property. Again I could not get an answer. There was a telephone number on the door of the property. We tried that, but it was the same recorded message.
I contacted Expedia customer service, who at first just gave me my confirmation number & then also told me they were trying to contact the property owner. When this was unsuccessful I was told I would be put through to another department. I waited on the telephone. But eventually we gave up and returned home. Which luckily was only around 1 1/2 hours away.
I did receive a call at 2:30am the following morning offering to find alternative accommodation. I explained that I had returned home and was told I would receive a refund in 5-7 days.
That was Tuesday 19th May and as yet I have not received my refund
