When the day catches up with you, an in-unit washer and dryer keeps beach towels and sandy layers in rotation.

Then there's the rooftop, and it's the reason you'll want to stay in as often as you head out. Up top, a shaded lounge and an alfresco dining setup make a strong case for spending your evenings here — trading stories as the light goes gold over the Venice rooftops and something sizzles on the grill.

The location does a lot of the heavy lifting. The Venice Canals, with their footbridges and glassy water, are a seven-minute walk away. Abbot Kinney Boulevard — the neighborhood's shopping-and-café artery — is right around the corner. The Venice Beach Boardwalk, Muscle Beach, and the wide-open sand are a short stroll west, with Santa Monica just up the coast and Marina del Rey a quick trip south. Park the car, and you may not need it again until checkout.
