« Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. « Lovely stay at a genuine village pub, not a restaurant with rooms or a hotel with a bar, this is the real thing. Beautifully furnished rooms, amazing staff and service and fantastic atmosphere, and Blewbury is beautiful. The Ukrainian menu has to be tried! We loved also that the dog was as welcome as we were. »

« I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. The bar staff are quite possibly the least friendly robots one can imagine. Then there is the traffic outside the rooms, staying on the ground floor close to bins, the bottle emptying goes on until 11pm and then the bin truck arrives 6 hours later in the early hours for recycling.. then you have to deal with the...

« This place was a dump. It smelled if sewage and the owner/manager was rude and arrogant. He sent an invoice for GBP20 for an early check-in, we were there an hour early, he gave us the key and never said a thing; good luck with that !!!. The menu was pathetic. We didn't eat there at all. Horrible experience. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, but the sewage smell was unbearable. Never again, whoever owns this place needs a new manager, if the manager is the owner this place can't...
