    Facilement accessible des principales autoroutes et avec un arrêt de bus à distance de marche, la villa est située à 45 km de Lisbonne. Entourée de murs en granit rose assurant une intimité totale et meublée avec le confort à l'esprit, cette maison spacieuse est décorée dans le style portugais traditionnel.

    Des restaurants bien connus se trouvent dans le village préservé à proximité, et des plages de renommée mondiale sont à une courte distance en voiture. Jouez aux liens du parcours de golf de Penha Longa de renommée mondiale à seulement 20 minutes. Explorez les châteaux maures de Sintra ou visitez le prestigieux casino d'Estoril. Célébrez le prochain centenaire de Notre-Dame de Fatima en 2017. Regardez la flotte de pêche décharger ses prises à Cascais ou assistez à des compétitions de planche à voile sur la plage de Guincho. House full of character, with amazing views of the ocean and Cabo da Roca and within walking distance of one of the most beautiful beaches of the Portuguese coast. A slice of Portugese history with a breathtaking view

This is a historic property with a breathtaking ocean view. If you seek to experience an authentic Portuguese villa with it's charm and character intact, you will enjoy. Retains the character and ambiance of an earlier era. Large and spacious, not significantly restored or renovated. The best stocked library/reading room ever seen in a rental property. The wifi is good too.

A wonderfully enjoyable stay at Cabo da Roca -

A lovely villa in a peaceful setting with beautiful views of the rolling hills and ocean - many hiking trails and special beaches - One immediately feels comfortable and at home in the villa - plenty of items on hand to make for an enjoyable and comfortable visit including modern appliances - two frigs in the kitchen and a new stove were all big positives. Plenty of lovely space inside and out for dining and relaxing. Host and support team were very helpful, gracious and most kind with always quick responses - we have stayed many places over many years and the home at cabo da roca is close to the top of the list of our most enjoyable - this is a very special place

Old Villa By the Sea

The house is like a beautiful ruin. It has many rooms to explore, including a wonderful library, and full of books and art and old photos, lives lived long ago. The portico is stunning to gather in, esp.at sunset. The views are tremendous, and as long as the windows are open, and rooms are aired out, the house is quite comfortable. It is from another time, and for us that was magical.

before we even arrived, Anna reached out to find out how she could help ease our transition (e.g. having some groceries in the house, etc). Frankie, the caretaker, met us at the house and is simply a lovely human. The house itself is quite spectacular. The photos speak for themselves, but it has a gorgeous view, and the hike down to the beach (starts across the street) takes you to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. (note: hike is not for the weary, but there are plenty of other beautiful beaches nearby). The house itself is quite impressive, so many rooms that there were rooms we didnt even get to spend any time in during our 5 day day. Thank you Anna and Frankie for a wonderful visit to Portugal!

Holiday with a view!

We’ve stayed here in the first week of August. The view from the garden is spectacular and the villa’s location is great to check out interesting places nearby (Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Lissabon). The beach below the house (Playa da Ursa) is fabulous. The villa itself is ready for some much needed love. It’s pretty damp inside. Paint is peeling. Rooms that smell musty. Double beds that crack and moan and aren’t actually large enough to fit two adults comfortably. No airconditioning, even though it was in dire need during our stay (it was >30 degrees outside). Don’t get me wrong. The villa is amazing. You feel like entering a museum showcasing the somewhat mysterious and impressive life of its previous owner and family. It could be a five star location with some overall improvements. It would be the crown of the village! We did enjoy our stay and have been a happy guest!

Million dollar view!

Anna’s home is magical. It quietly weaves its spell over you, as you relax into a bygone era with the furnishings, lounge on the sun drenched terraces and revel in the spectacular views of Cabo da Roca, which we never tired of. This is a special property. At 3,000 sq ft of living space, it’s easy to spread out and enjoy the myriad different sitting rooms. It’s critical to understand that this property is steeped in history and decorated with ancient art and Russian icons. Yes, it is tired around the edges, but its spirit is impossible to resist. It’s so close to the water and perpetual mist and rain of the Sintra area that moisture is everywhere, as with any seaside property. We visited as a family of four, to celebrate a big birthday, and we cherished every moment in this home. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want and we enjoyed preparing our meals there. The caretaker Frankie was fantastic, and he is an excellent chef. All in all, this was a holiday to remember for our entire lives!

Casa de Roca is a home run!

If you are going to the west coast of Portugal and you are in search of old world charm, with great views, beaches within walking distance, and a cute village just up the road then this house is for you. Casa de Roca is charming, sleeps 6 adults comfortably. We cooked several meals in so that we could enjoy the large terrace and sip wine watching the sun set over the light house. We all loved the house, the kitchen was stocked so cooking was easy, bathrooms were large and old fashion, oh and did I mention the sunsets....? We are looking forward to our return trip to Portugal and a stay in this charming house.

An undiscovered gem!

We rented this place to attend a family wedding at the Pongha Resort and it was perfect for 8 of us. While all of Portugal was experiencing a heat wave, this place kept cool because of the marine layer from the Atlantic. We were able to keep the windows open the entire time with only an occasional fly, mosquito, or moth coming inside. The place is HUGE with many rooms and big bedrooms. Upstairs has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with twin beds) that share a full bath. Downstairs has one bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bath, and one bedroom with twin beds, and an additional half bath. So it's only awkward when somebody in the last bedroom downstairs has to find a place to take a shower. And...you can only take one shower at a time or there is not water pressure...can be tricky when you're all trying to get ready for a wedding! But otherwise, the place was PERFECT. The town is close with a couple of nice restaurants. Lisbon is a nice day trip. Cascais and Sintra and close too. Lisbon airport is 45 minutes away. The kitchen has everything you need. Clothes washer and dryer worked perfectly. We even managed to make the old and somewhat worn BBQ work! I was disappointed we did not find any candles to purchase, as there are about 6 or 7 candelabras in the place that would have been fun to light. The beach is a short walk, but....the closest beach is a steep walk and not for the elderly or those without the right footwear (while we were there, somebody broke their leg and had to be medically evacuated via helicopter!). If you are there on the weekend, beware that if the weather is nice, many tourists AND locals will drive to the lighthouse and park all the way up to the house. They never blocked the driveway, but we had to back down as they were trying to leave. Also, if you are not good at driving a stick shift, the driveway can get tricky. Highly recommend this place for a family or large group!!!

Romantic old-world quinta

Perfect for a large family/group, the house has a true 'sense of place'. Staying there is a bit like your grandmother's house: beautiful, old, and fabulous. Everything was just as described. The general area is busy but the Quinta (it's really a small estate) is a haven from it all, yet close to Sintra, Lisbon & Cascais. The nearby village of Almocageme is a particular favourite, and the cafe in Malveira da Serra became 'our' capucchino spot. It's a way to experience Portugal without feeling you are a tourist; priceless.

My husband and I booked the villa with another couple. This place is AMAZING! The house is spacious and comfortable with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The view is not to be believed-- we spent our time sunning ourselves on the marble terraces, cooking gourmet meals, and having cocktails while watching the sun go down over the ocean. Stunning Sintra and Cascais and other sights are all within an easy driving distance. The caretaker gave lots of helpful advice and the owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, a perfect vacation. We will be back! Marina G

The Villa is a magical place with views that are hard to believe are real. Ursa beach right across from the villa is truly one of the most amazing beaches we have ever seen. We enjoyed all the recommendations provided by the host - including lovely restaurants right near the villa. Our stay there will be a special memory for ever!

Karaktervol huis met geweldig uitzicht

We hebben hier met ons 8-en (met kinderen in de leeftijd van 9-21 jaar), twee heerlijk weken gehad. Het huis heeft werkelijk een prachtige ligging met uitzicht op de vuurtoren van Cabo da Roca. Weliswaar was het soms best een uitdaging om naar boven te komen met onze auto's ;-).... De kinderen hebben bijna dagelijks het strandje Ursa beneden aan de weg afgedaald, een van de mooiste strandjes van Portugal. Door de persoonlijke details, potugese tegels, kunst, foto's, gaf het huis een hele fijne sfeer, waarin we ons allemaal erg hebben thuisgevoeld. Zeker een plek om terug te keren!

Extraordinary

Hard to believe that it was a year ago that we had to leave magical Portugal, made possible by your sharing of your very special home and the gracious help you offered. As you promised, we were in "real" Portugal, not a resort. We all loved your extraordinary Quinta, treating it as our own home, while enjoying and appreciating the privilege it was to stay there for 10 wonderful days while we explored and enjoyed Portugal and its truly gracious people. We all enjoyed many hikes to the nearby cliffs, day trips to beaches, historic villages, palaces, castles, recommended restaurants, but coming home each to day to such a special place was the best. We took advantage of your suggested markets and were able to prepare delicious dinners and breakfasts and enjoy them with the magnificent views and the tranquility of your villa. Your gate keeper, was welcoming, and as you promised, a very good cook. Our first dinner of his cod, was a perfect beginning as was the final evening on his terrace for a lovely glass of rose. Jaime is another wonderful resource, and as promised, was there to greet us o our entry to Lisbon and take us to our rental car in Estoril. Later he picked up another friend and at 3AM was there to get us back to the airport, dropping off our rental car on the way in Estoril, and then returning the key later in the morning. These two men were only the beginning of our experience with the generosity of the Portuguese people. Time and again, everyone we had the opportunity to come in contact with, were exceptionally kind and thoughtful. There is so much of Portugal to see but would be hard to imagine anything more ideal than being able to come back again to your villa one day soon. Thank you!

Still savoring my visit - extraordinary Quinta!

I was delighted to spend two weeks at this breathtaking villa, extraordinary for its beauty of location and place as well as its graciousness, elegance, spaciousness and ease. The villa's beautiful garden and immediate surroundings offer a singular kind of quiet and beauty I've not experienced before; proximity to incredible vistas and wonderful towns (including hikes, beaches, easy train to Lisbon) create unique possibilities of exploration each day. The villa's interior is handsome and airy, enhanced with beautiful (and unimposing) artworks resonating with the culture of the country. The lovely and excellently maintained kitchen (a pleasure to cook in), dining room, family room, reading rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms convey the energy of a house much loved and cared for. I highly recommend this villa for couples, families, writing groups, colleagues, friends - the Quinta's remarkable, brilliant architecture (inside and out) allows for individual privacy while easily promoting collaboration and togetherness. The owner was accommodating, helpful and reachable throughout my stay - while there was no reason to request assistance, I was in excellent hands throughout. I hope very much to return!

THE BEST VACATION OF MY LIFE

when you book on these sites you can be misled by images and info that sugar coat. This is not the case. The views are something not to be believed. The spot is one you would only dream about. The house bares the grand nature of royalty. This is heaven.

Unique magical place

My wife and I and two other couples came to this marvelous villa for some much needed R&R. It is a peaceful haven where the only sounds are the ocean and the birds. The view is pristine and spectacular on all sides. When we felt energetic, we explored the nearby Moorish castles, abandoned monasteries and the royal palaces in Sintra. We also took relaxed day trips to the university towns of Coimbra and Evora as well as Alcobaca and Fatima. We played golf and tennis at the superb Penha Longa and attended concerts and operas in Lisbon. The lovely unspoiled village of Azoia is 1/2 mile away and has some excellent restaurants when we did not feel like venturing out. The villa itself is well maintained. It is a large house with more than enough room for the six of us. The owner was helpful and responsive and went out of her way to be accommodating. There is an English speaking caretaker who lives near by who was extremely helpful and courteous. We can't wait to come back!!!

Super-relaxing and...unforgettable

I came here with my fiancee to basically relax. We found the house and views to be stunning. Our only gripe was that it was occasionally cold but we should have known that it can be that way in early March; but the house was well-heated and in general, the description on VRBO is accuate, while the photos don't begin to convey the majestic beauty of the 360 degree views. The owner are in the STates, and are used to renters and very accomodating and obviously love the place and eager for visitors to do so too. There was also a helpful caretaker who lives nearby, though we didn't need his help really. We had planned to take overnight road trips but found Sintra and Colares and the nearby beaches and vineyards, farmers markets, fish markets, pottery and antique stores etc. to be so rich and fascinating that we basically spend the whole 10 days without venturing more than 20 miles away from the house. We would eagerly recommend this house to discriminating visitors, who want a window on what was best about coastal Europe before the high rise hotels ruined so many resort areas.

The Quinta - a real gem!

A wonderful, gracious villa, absolutely perfect for a group of friends or an extended family (in our case three generations.) Enjoy breakfast & happy hour on the terrace, dinner around the large dining room table (could easily seat ten.) The Quinta is perfectly located for sightseeing in the greater Lisbon area, including a beautiful 25 minute drive to the world heritage town of Sintra (we went twice.) Park you car in Cascais (25 minute drive) and catch the train into Lisbon (we went twice.) There is a really good restaurant in the nearby village (about one mile) and grocery stores a short drive away (Go to the Jumbo to see an enormous fish department and counters piled high with salt cod.) Kids loved climbing around the fortress in Lisbon and the Moorish castle in Sintra. Highest recommendation!

Fabulous

We stayed there with our two boys 10 & 11 and my in laws (70 & 72) and had plenty of space, beautiful views and lots to do. It is a charming old Portuguese home which is very clean and well kept. The owner, Katia, was flexible with our length of stay and very prompt in returning emails. The view and grounds are outstanding! My mother-in-law gets motion sickness and is used to a modern American lifestyle, this was not the ideal trip for her, but the rest of us had a wonderful stay! I would highly recommend it!

Absolutely amazing! Best vacation ever!

What an amazing villa! Huge, very comfortable, secluded and private (surrounded by a national park), idyllic setting and a perfect base of operation to explore the many nearby sights, Lisbon and the rest of Portugal. It is close enough to the numerous marvels of Sintra to be able to visit there many times. And the most spectacular beach we've ever seen, Ursa Beach, is just a short stroll away (and this comes from a well-traveled Californian). Would recommend walking to and exploring along the flower-clad seaside cliff tops and the Cabo da Roca lighthouse (on the western-most point in all of Europe), which the villa has a commanding view of. The listing description is accurate and the photographs only begin to capture how remarkably beautiful it is. We found the property very clean and well-maintained. The care taker and maid, who live in a separate house on the grounds, are readily available, were very helpful and friendly, and kept the villa immaculate. The owner was helpful with all of our questions. Our teenage daughter had us connected to the internet Wi-Fi within moments of our arrival - And reception was clear and strong from anywhere on the grounds. My family stayed for two of the most wonderful weeks of our lives and we hope to return again as often as possible. I would highly recommend this to both family and friends, and hope to return there with them to share in the delight of this remarkable place. We really loved it!
