Room was not ready/available to me on arrival with family and kids.
I booked this apartment the weekend before arriving, and everything went fine, and the payment went through. The night before arriving, I saw the owner sent me a message to confirm the reservation right after I booked the apartment. I asked the night before how to get into the apartment on arrival with no response. I sent another message early in the morning before leaving for Lima with no response as well. She responded to a third message 40 minutes after my arrival and told me the apartment wasn’t available to me, even though the payment was taken from my credit card. She said she’s open to working with me to get my payment refunded, and was nice about that, but it was difficult finding another place last minute with 3 kids. Anyone who offers their apartment for rent should honor their part of the contract after booking, and in this case, she didn’t. I recommend communicating with her before booking, or at the very least, right after, so this doesn’t happen to you. I work full time with kids, so setting up an account to communicate wasn’t a priority since everything was fine on my end 1 week before. I expected communication the night before like other rentals.
