Get to know God’s own country with a stay in Coverdale, exploring endless hiking routes and quintessentially Yorkshire villages dotted around this rural retreat. The property is a peaceful bolthole for two, perfect for romantic breaks and uninterrupted quality time. While it’s self-contained with plenty of space to relax, you also have access to shared on-site facilities, including a large lounge/dining space, ideal for getting to know the neighbours or when renting this property alongside its neighbouring holiday home. There’s also a shared outdoor space with patio furniture, a BBQ, and a firepit for you to use while admiring the mighty view.
In addition to the shared exterior space, this handsome stone cottage also offers a smaller, private patio directly outside the property, with outdoor seating and a BBQ for your sole use. From here, step inside and feel right at home. The bijou cottage features a cosy lounge/diner with a few steps up to a contemporary kitchen. In the lounge, a comfortable loveseat is positioned opposite a wood burner and a Smart TV for those enjoyable nights in. From here, step through into the spacious king-size bedroom and up a few steps to the bright en-suite shower room. There’s private parking for one car, with additional parking by prior arrangement.
Follow country lanes from the property to explore the Dales far and wide. Coverdale’s namesake, the River Cover, runs past the property about 1.5 miles away, with undulating roads and heath-clad fields ready to be discovered around the river and the surrounding valley. Buckden Pike and Great Whernside (car park 10 miles) are your nearest peaks for long, rewarding hikes. You can also enjoy a day out at the local Forbidden Corner attraction, around 5 miles away. Spend time in beautiful Aysgarth (10 miles), spotting hidden waterfalls and fantastic sights along the River Ure, or head to Cray to discover the fabulous Middle Falls (15.5 miles).
