We stayed for 5 nights, and this was our second time booking at Vdara. Unfortunately, this time we booked through a third-party rental, and the experience was very disappointing.
For the price paid, the room should have been comfortable and well maintained, but this unit clearly needs significant maintenance. The mattress was extremely worn, you could sink into it, and we couldn’t sleep the first night.
We went to the front desk, and the lady who assisted us was very kind and professional. However, she explained that because the room was owned by a third party, the hotel could not move us to another room since there were no other units available from that owner. They attempted to contact the owner, but we never received any help or response.
We also contacted Expedia, who said they would reach out to the hotel. In the end, no one offered a solution.
The room was dusty, the furniture was very worn, and when I requested cleaning because the room was given to us dirty, we found crumbs and leftover food from previous guests under the glass dining table. We were then told cleaning would cost an additional $60, which is unacceptable.
What was most frustrating is that both the hotel and the third-party rental kept passing responsibility to each other instead of resolving the issue. We had a great experience at Vdara in the past, but I strongly advise being cautious when booking through third-party rentals, as no one takes responsibility when problems arise.
