Camp Karibu is your ultimate vacation base camp with high peaks views that just can't be captured in the pictures! Perfect location with the privacy of a luxury lodge within easy walking distance to the lake (2 min), village, restaurants and shops (5-10 min). Classic four-story lodge boasts 6,000+ sq. ft. for your perfect getaway. Newly installed A/C on the main level & in primary bedroom suite, cozy radiant floor heating throughout and large gas fireplace in the living room.
Spacious gourmet kitchen with 6-burner gas stove is perfect for family culinary adventures. Fully stocked with kitchenware, oils, spices and everything needed to inspire your inner chef. Butler's pantry serves as a coffee/espresso station. Treat yourself to a cappuccino with our Nespresso & frother, have a quick Keurig on the go or brew a whole pot for the early risers. Grill with your family on our deck and enjoy meals in the formal dining room - or better yet, on our screened, rustic dining porch.
We offer five luxurious bedrooms: two king suites, one king bedroom & queen bedroom that share a connecting full bath and one bedroom with two twin beds (see layout in pictures). All bedrooms include high-end linens, additional blankets and a variety of pillows to choose from. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other necessities located in the linen closet.
Two large family rooms & a game room with ping pong and foosball for fun, relaxation and a little healthy competition. Loads of puzzles and board games as well as badminton and corn hole for outdoor contests! Solo fire pit for low-smoke campfires and s'mores. Bookshelves full of kids' books, cookbooks and novels for every reader in your group. Use our floats to lounge on the lake, or in the winter, take a sled down the hills of the golf course outside your back door. New 65" Sony Smart TV in the main living room, 55" Smart TV in the lower level living room and Smart TV in the primary suite.
Access the most amazing mountain biking trails in the Adirondacks just across the golf course (Lussi & Logger trails). Ponds and other natural features along the course make walking the Lake Placid Club property a natural adventure (golfing or not!). Spot beavers, geese, ducks, deer and more.

Wonderful home! It was well appointed, and the location was great-walking distance to downtown and the Olympic Museum.Megan and Scott thought of everything we could’ve needed, and they were a pleasure to deal with.We enjoyed the fire pit, cooked one night on the grill, and played board games, ping pong, and foosball.The only reason I put in 4 stars on the location rating is because VRBO wouldn’t let me proceed with 5 stars in that category for some reason.Everyone slept well and had a great time. We hope to go back to Lake Placid and this home again.

Beautiful home! Every amenity you could think of. We really enjoyed the reclining chairs looking out over the golf course and the mountains. Spectacular view! So much to do in the area. The beach and the Wild Center were our favorites.

Wonderful stay at camp Karibu! Beautiful home and great rental for big groups! We had 3 families and everyone felt they had their own space and we were not in top of one another! The home is very well equipped, everything you needed was there (linens, towels, laundry, beach toys, dishes, spices, etc.). In addition, everything is very nice, nothing cheap or flimsy. The enclosed porches and bonus spaces were so great for relaxing and playing with the kids. Short 5-8 min walk to the public beach, playground, and town. Views from the house are gorgeous - Sun rises, sun sets and shooting stars. We had a fantastic time! Would 100% rent again next time. Lastly, host was super responsive and accommodating. She made everything easy and seamless! Thanks Megan!

Perfect in every way! Well-appointed, extremely clean, 5-minute walk to the lake and 10-min walk to town. The porch, the deck, the firepit, and two large family rooms provide all the gathering space necessary to accommodate guests of all ages. The kitchen is a chef's dream. Long Weekend Getaway

We had an excellent stay at this Adirondack home! The owner was incredibly communicative and prompt, making the entire experience seamless from start to finish. The home was just as pictured – spacious with plenty of comfortable areas to relax, play games, and enjoy meals together. The open views across the golf course towards the mountains were absolutely breathtaking. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and take in the beauty of the area. Highly recommend!

Wonderful house in a fabulous location

My family of 5 loved this house! Everything was perfect. My teens loved the game room, the ping pong table was a huge hit. The kitchen was stocked with spices and cleaning supplies. The location of the house might have been the best part. We were a short walk to Main Street and Mirror Lake Drive. We had an amazing trip and hope to book this house again.

Camp GMB meets Camp Karibu

The description of this house does not do it justice. It was everything and more. Absolutely beautiful property and home. The owners thought of everything. The views were beautiful, the outside beautifully lit with Christmas lights. Three floors with enough bathrooms for 13 women 35-40 years old. I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing the steam shower was…. We were sad to leave and are hoping to return back to this house again. Thank you for hosting us!

Exceptional Adirondack Home

Beautiful, spacious home with spectacular views. We have stayed in many different locations in Lake Placid and this is by far our favorite. Great communication with the owner. We most certainly will be back.
