« Property great, host very responsive to all questions, liked location, a little loud with traffic and building next door but overall excellent stay and will stay again. »

« This was an extremely clean well maintained suite. Our view of the fishing boats on the canal was interesting to watch from our deck. We used the heated pool and relaxed on the deck chairs every day! The hosts were very helpful in every way even giving us their own fan on a hot still day. We hope to be back next year for a longer stay. »

« I had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Quaint little cottage with a beautiful view. Lovely outdoor seating area to sit and have your coffee and read while looking out at the Lagoon. The family that keeps the grounds is very nice and helpful. The only possible issue, is that there’s no real market. So, if you come, you may want to bring in some groceries. However, there are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores for water, drinks and chips, etc. »

« Location of the home was within short walking distance to several good restaurants and not far from the centre of Barra, its beach and malecon. Home was secure, clean, beds were comfortable and small pool very welcome on warmer days. Some minor street noise at times was only a minor annoyance. Would stay again. »

« Located in the busy area of Barra de Navidad. Shops and restaurants literally around the corner. Lots of local food vendors and small grocery stores. It can be noisy at night but I found that when I went into bedroom the noise decreased significantly and I was not bothered at all, slept well. « The house is lovely with the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had, a stunning domed roof ceiling in the bedroom, good shower, comfortable bed and good internet so ticks lots of boxes. It is on the edge of town and has some industrial neighbours which made it very noisy. Happy folks are working hard but it is something to know about. It’d be best to have a car or rent bicycles if staying here as taxis were hard to come by at least when we were there. The walk into town was about 18 minutes. If...

« We just loved this spot! The layout of the property, our coffees on the deck area overlooking the property, Siegfried our host, just so many good things. The kitchen is equipped with the bare essentials. We didn’t cook at all there, so that wasn’t an issue. The bed was quite a bit different from what we are used to - more on the hard side. « My brother and I stayed at Villa La Joya for three nights and enjoyed the entire time. The hosts bent over backwards to make us comfortable and even took the time to discuss life in Barra de Navidad and surrounding areas. The villa is beautifully appointed with lots of space for the two of us. The location was excellent, situated on a canal, but still close to the ocean.
