The room looked ok but on closer inspection not so good! Bathroom had mould in the tile grout in the shower and the remaining bathroom was bare plaster. The toilet seat was not attached properly. The bathroom had some sort of sewage maceration system that would go off every hour throughout the night! Nobody knew how the tv worked!! Four remotes for 1 tv!! They then had to go out for batteries as nobody could get it to work! There were thick cobwebs around one of the pictures but the room was clean and the bed was good, just really poor pillows. A plus was the good tea and coffee facilities and loads of clean towels and toiletries. I knew breakfast was not included but I was aware breakfast was available for a charge. However I was told breakfast was not available as nobody would be available to cook or serve!!! I had to travel some distance to get breakfast!!
Bed uncomfortable. Place needs a bit of attention. Beer garden nice but needs tidying up. Staff are very good. Food lets it down big time. Served in takeaway boxes even though eating in!
Lovely old building, beautiful village but evening food menu more like a lunch time one with burgers pizzas and fish n chips served in takeaway containers didnât fit with cost of rooms or pictures of food on their website. Staff donât seem to have had any customer service training.
Comfey pillows, soft quality towels! Food just takeaways, to sit in and eat ! Curries available. The chicken curry came with additional extras, the lamb didn't. No desert menu offered us. and no breakfast available. No breakfast tea available in room.
We had a pleasant stay here, the staff were friendly, the evening meal and breakfast were very good. The room was clean but noise from other room Macerators is annoying and the shower needed descaling. Potential is there for this Inn, just needs some TLC.
Be careful on booking with Expedia as we booked a room with breakfast but Ostrich advised price was room only, we were unable to contact Expedia to sort as very difficult to contact so advised the Inn on arrival, they need to sort out the issue between them, be aware when booking.
With a 490 year old pub you expect a bit of 'character'. The hotel was shabby, smelt damp and no heating (until they moved me at my request) from the original room i was allocated. Staff were fine, but it is in desperate need of investment and maintenance. I wont be rushing back.
Rooms are very tired and require bringing up to standard expected. Found half a bottle of what we hope was wine under the bed on arrival. Lots of cobwebs and stains on carpets.
On a plus note, breakfast was amazing and the staff brilliant.
The room was very dated, the beds old and uncomfortable and the en-suite bathroom was cold and un-friendly and included a noisy waste-water pump system.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Bathroom was nice - though, toilet was noisy and had a rubbish flush!
Decor of bedroom just looked a bit tired. Carpet by the door was stained and could do with being replaced...
Tea and coffee facilities in room was good - biscuits would have been nice.
Breakfast was good with quality bacon and sausages.
Okay value for the ÂŁ70 per night charge.
Would stay again
Not 100% clean . Notso much in room as building is very old.
Breakfast is in pub but not til 9am and pub area was not cleanest. I think they had staff shortages. The staff were lovely and the girl who checked us in was a credit to the venue.
No facilities to keep baby milk cold or to warm it, flooring unlevel so beds werenât level, staff polite friendly, garden was lovely, everywhere was clean n beds were comfy even on a slight tilt, overall happy with accommodation
