Salty Palm Retreat sits right in the middle of it — a two-bedroom set within the gated Truman Annex Shipyard Condominium complex, one of Old Town's most recognizable addresses, the kind of place that feels calm and lived-in the moment you set your bags down.

Inside, the home is bright, breezy, and easy to settle into. The kitchen is the standout — crisp white cabinetry, a stone-topped island with room to gather around, stainless appliances, and warm pendant lighting overhead — fully set up for cooking real meals rather than just reheating takeout. It opens onto a living room done in coastal blues and soft neutrals, where ceiling fans turn overhead and a comfortable sofa faces the TV for the nights you'd rather stay in.

The two bedrooms keep things simple. The primary is anchored by a king bed, calm and uncluttered, while the second room is set with two twins — an easy fit for kids, friends, or anyone who likes their own space, and they can be converted into a single king bed on request. A full bathroom with a walk-in glass shower serves both, and an in-unit washer and dryer handles the practical side of your stay. It's a right-sized layout that works well for a family or a small group of up to four.

Step outside and the home really opens up. A private covered porch runs along the front, shaded by bright turquoise umbrellas and set with an outdoor dining table and lounge seating — the natural spot for morning coffee, a long lunch, or a drink as the light goes gold. Just beyond, the community's shared pool is there for cooling off on the hot afternoons the Keys are known for.

The location is the kind you can't fake. Truman Annex's tree-lined streets are right outside your door, and Fort Zachary Taylor's state park beach — some of the best swimming sand in Key West — is a short walk away without ever leaving the neighborhood, with the Harry S. Truman Little White House just up the lane. Step past the gates and Bahama Village's cafés and galleries are minutes on — Blue Heaven, with its courtyard chickens and legendary breakfast, is a local institution — and the Hemingway Home & Museum, where the six-toed cats still hold court, is close behind. Duval Street's shops, bars, and live music are an easy stroll, and come evening, Mallory Square's sunset celebration is close enough to work into your nightly routine. Old Town is famously walkable and bike-friendly, so most of your days here happen on foot.

- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- All bookings of 28 days or longer require a security deposit, which will be charged after booking.
- This home is on a monthly pest control schedule. The Key West area is home to many insects, such as termites, no-see-ums, and mosquitoes. Pest control cannot completely eliminate these insects during swarming season. Guests may also encounter geckos, lizards, iguanas, frogs, and chickens during their stay.
- The community pool has heat available in winter months only.
- The owner's closet in the twin bedroom is not accessible to guests.
- Please note that max occupancy includes infants.
- Any reservations 28 days or longer will require additional clean/cleans to be scheduled. Additional payment will be collected and the amount of cleans will depend on the length of your stay.
- Key West is a resort island where renovations of existing historic properties, new construction, and road repairs may occur without prior notice. AvantStay is not liable for guest inconveniences caused by construction in the area.
- Please note that, if requested, the two twin beds can be converted into one king bed with bedding for a $75 fee. Please make this request at least 48 hours in advance.
- You must be at least 25 years old to book this property.

Parking Details:
- One parking space per unit, no guest parking.
- No vehicle over 18’ long or 80” wide allowed.
- No large trucks, trailers, mobile homes, vans, campers or similar vehicles shall be parked in the Truman Annex.
- Motorcycles and scooters must be parked in the parking lot and not on sidewalks or porches.
- All vehicles parked within the community must either have a permanent parking sticker or a temporary parking pass (typically left at the property prior to your arrival).
- All others will be subject to ticketing and towing.
- Unfortunately, there is no plug for electric cars in this home. However, there are several throughout the Island.
- Bicycles can only be parked in designated bike racks located throughout the property. They cannot be tied to trees, front porches, or fences.
- No bikes allowed inside or on the front or back decks
- For additional parking, please find space outside the Truman Annex complex

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
