« My wife and I stayed at Mara Explorer for 6 nights in September 2023. This was our third Safari in Kenya. The Mara Explorer is the most magical and enchanting location for a safari I could ever imagine. Everything was impeccable - the amazingly friendly and professional staff, wonderful hospitality, service, and beautiful food. « We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Mara Duma in a triple tent. The tent was right on the Talek River and we slept to the sounds of hippos grunting and frogs. The staff were exceptional - warm, friendly, kind and helpful - and went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Food was tasty and home cooked and they catered for my gluten allergy brilliantly - i didnt get contaminated. « It was altogether wonderful BUT we did not know that the camp, being inside the Lake Nakuru Park would mean paying a great deal more than the hotel rates - an extra £300, for the 2days. Your booking should warn people of this before they book the camp. »

« Visited Ashnil as part of a longer trip. The other Lodges have excellent dinner and lunch meals and service. Here, we were told on arrival that each sitting would cost us a small fortune for what turned out to be very mediocre meals. You are in the middle of nowhere, so paying for these meals left a bitter taste in the mouth for a one-night stay. Service was inferior, period. The bathrooms are horrible - see photos. Marketing material must be from another time/ age when there was a decent...

« Great location near Amboseli park. Fabulous view of Kili (when the mountain ks nkt hiding!). Top notch tents esp the luxury ones wirh plunge pool. Good food and very good staff. Especially appreciated that many stff were from local community. Asante! »
