Start in Kapa'a Town for breakfast or a browse, then follow the Wailua River toward waterfalls and garden country. Lydgate Beach Park offers a gentler place to spend time by the water, while the shoreline outside the complex is made for sunrise and beachcombing. This east-side location also makes a sensible launching point for exploring either direction around Kauai.



Getting Around:

Kapaa sits along Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast, about 15 to 20 minutes from Lihue Airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring the island, though the main strip along Kuhio Highway is walkable, with beaches, shops, restaurants, and the popular coastal path all within easy reach on foot. Grocery stores and casual dining are close by. Parking is generally available at condos and along the street, making this an easy, low stress base.
