Oceanfront one bedroom plus a loft, one bath condo, top/3rd floor Pono Kai Resort Unit B304 with elevator and beautiful ocean views is centrally located in historic Kapa'a Town with easy access to the North and South shores of Kaua'i. Situated on 13 tropical acres, steps to the beach and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, boutiques, and more! Accommodates up to 4 guests, including children and infants.

Swim right on the beach fronting Pono Kai Resort or rest pool side and enjoy the outdoor spa and sauna. Barbecue stations are located throughout the property along with laundry facilities on the ground floor or each building.

The downstairs bedroom is furnished with a Cal King bed and the loft bedroom with a Queen bed and Twin bed. This condo provides 827 square feet of living space and air Conditioning throughout. Beach Gear provided includes: Beach towels, chairs, umbrella, cooler.

Relax and feel at home in a tastefully furnished living space that opens to your private top floor lanai overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This very clean beachfront condo was perfect for us. Communication was easy and access was even easier. The condo was very clean and quiet. We appreciate it being able to walk into town. We could see the whales in the far distance blowing spouts. The water in front of the condo was perfect for teaching my niece how to snorkel. We had a fantastic week and we’ll probably return in the future.

Great location and views. Very clean and welcoming. The living room furniture is actually updates from photos and has two recliners now. Such an easy place to walk by the icean or into town for a large choice of food options. We only used our rental one day for a quick trip to Poipu. The resort has a lot of easy to use recreational activities. Good communication with Property Manager.

Great location and view

We only had a short stay. Property is exactly as described. Kitchen is very well supplied. Enjoyed have beach towels and chairs available. Host was very easy to work with and helpful.

Perfect ocean view

Great location. Rooms all had fans and AC. Bed was too soft for me but others might like. The apartment is dated and we had issues with the sliding door but other than that everything was fine. Property is great. Pool,hot tub, walking distance to shops and restaurants. I would stay here again.

Overall very good, but living room furniture extremely uncomfortable

I would have given this place higher rating if the living room furniture was minimally comfortable. The 2 wicker chairs are so uncomfortable, they belong outside or something; they were awful. The couch was very small and uncomfortable as well. So, our family couldn't even sit in the living room comfortably. I just don't understand why the owners can't realize that people spend this much money on a condo, why wouldn't they think they'd like to be comfortable after a long day of being out and about. All they would have to do is get a sectional or even a couple of recliners and would make this so much better. On the flip side, I'm so glad there was A/C, even though it was inconsistent, we still were able to stay cool. So, don't believe anyone that tells you that you don't need a/c in Hawaii, as they are either not being sincere, or they are used to sleeping in high humidity outside or something. If you are used to sleeping warm or lots of humidity, then you'd be fine. This location was very good as a base, in that we could go north or south and cover alot of ground. That and there were numerous affordable eating locations that were really good. I would have liked to stay in the north, as it's prettier, but affordable restaurant selections were hard to find, and the area seemed to be very crowded. FYI, beach is really not optimum for swimming, as the water is not clear, lots of debris swirling around; but is great for the sounds and view.

Wonderful Property and View

We really enjoyed Pono Kai Resort...the property is beautiful and this unit has a spectacular view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises every day. The staff is very friendly here, maintenance around the property is very good and this unit is well stocked with everything you will need. We plan to return to this unit again...and we have been to Kauai many times... Mahalo!

I could have lived on the balcony. I watched the sunrise every morning which meant during the heat of the day the sun was on the other side of the building. Listening to the loud crashing of the waves while on the balcony was wonderful. I did a lot of work on the balcony and there was no problem with the internet. Ditto with inside the unit. The connection and speed were great. It was nice walking to the food trucks, restaurants and clothing shops on the edge of the property. The grounds were well kept, and I always felt safe. The air conditioning had multiple controls and they were well labeled. The lights and fans were also well labeled and there was no question about how to make something work. The kitchen had more implements than any other unit I have rented. Not only was there a corkscrew for the wine bottles, but it also had a wine bottle stopper for when the cork doesn't come out cleanly. There were more cooking items in the kitchen than I have in my home. The closet had an ice chest and items for the pool but we didn't use them. The bed felt mushy & I thought I would have trouble sleeping but even though we use a hard bed at home, we had no trouble sleeping and no back problems in the morning. Living room chairs and the couch were not very comfortable but they were clean and in good condition. We did not use the loft.

Quiet clean and functional

The family needed a place with a washer and dryer (which was conveniently downstairs of the building), a kitchen, and multiple beds for the kids, which this place was perfect for! The loft made it especially fun for the kids. Right on the ocean, and away from the road, the condo was quiet when we needed it to be.

This is a nice 2br condo with 2 floors. Well equipped and right on the beach. The only negative was the fact that there are literally no comfortable seating options anywhere in the condo. We found ourselves lying on the bed mostly for comfort. The 2nd floor bed mattress is very thin and needs a replacement. The grounds are nice. There is a nice hot tub but so many chemicals that it burned your eyes. A note for future guests, this is a privately owned condo so therefore you can’t use the resort provided pool toys, towels etc. The unit has beach towels and chairs but they are mismatch. A few simple improvements and this is 5 star condo. The area itself is very rustic and there are lots of food trucks but I can’t say we were comfortable walking at night, it felt a little gettoish.

My wife and I have been blessed to have been to Hawaii quite a few times. This property ranks up at the top 3 condos that we have had the pleasure of staying at. The view from the lanai stunning! Thanks to the wonderful owners of this condo we able to be there for 101 days! They are VERY special people!

We really enjoyed the condo. It was very clean with an outstanding ocean view from the lanai. It is very centrally located on the island. The biggest drawback are the darn roosters. They are everywhere and start crowing between 3:30-4:00 AM. Not much you can do when they are everywhere on the island. Just part of the experience.

Great View and Location

The view from this room was great. The central location on the island could not have been better. Unit had enough Linens, Outdoor beach items, and all the kitchen dishes you would ever need. We did have some concerns after we arrived and contacted the owner through VRBO. Answer came back from property manager that stated "We will contact our local person who helps with these things and have the items addressed within the next next month with a plan to accomplish everything by year end.". Not what I was expecting.. Lock on lanai slider would not lock. Locks on master bedroom window missing, could not lock windows. Safety issue. Bedroom Blinds would only rise on left side and the rod to turn slats open/close was missing. Could not open blinds to get a breeze. Needed breeze because of no air conditioning. Not complaining about no air. I new that. Ceiling fan for ventilation was making noises. Both plastic chairs on lanai broke due to weathering. Even pinched my wife when she sat in the Lounge chair. DVD remote had no batteries. extras not in room. Electrical outlets in front room would spark and sizzle when I plugged items into them. Fire Issue?. Plug your cords into outlets first then into your electronics. Won't short out your equipment that way. Upper rack in dishwasher only opens 25% of its travel. Very inconvenient to load the back of the rack. In the kitchen there was only one trash bag. Not near enough for a two week stay. There were coffee cups in the cupboard that had dried coffee in them. Never washed. Heavy soap scum on shower stall. Ever cleaned? Toilet flushed itself every 10 minutes. Sounded as if it was flushing but it didn't actually flush the bowl. One of the pillows had hair and lipstick on it. No extra linen to change it out. Put batteries in the clock on the wall and it still would not work. Looks to me that since the remodel years ago the the maintenance has been neglected. I have to ask myself. Does the owner even know what shape his unit is in. I know some of these things seem a little petty, but I believe that if you are going to rent your place you would like it to be the same as if you were living there.

This was perfect for our honeymoon stay! The water view was amazing!! No a/c ended up being fine! Just opened things up at night and closed it off during the day. It stayed cool enough for us! Best location on the whole island in my opinion. Will definitely be back!
