Moosewood is perfect for gatherings of all types - a heaven for kids, pet friendly, pool and set on 100 acres! The home is designed to enable you to relax, enjoy and create special memories surrounded by wildlife and nature. You may spot kangaroos, wombats, and abundant birdlife – lyrebirds, wedge-tailed eagles, and friendly king parrots. The indoor areas feature a wood burner, split system air-con and heating in all rooms, Wi-Fi, foosball, games, piano, and smart TV. Outdoors includes a landscaped enclosed garden pool with sweeping views, paddocks, fire pit, pizza oven, competition-sized boule court, table tennis, trampoline, and tyre swings!

- The nightly tariff includes 6 guests, and additional guests incur an extra charge. Please enter the total number of guests and the tariff will calculate automatically.

General information about Moosewood

- The cottage has an eco hemp toilet, not a normal flush toilet
- The pool is not heated during the winter months of May, June, July and August. At other times of the year, if you wish to take advantage of pool heating, please tell us when you receive this email and we will arrange for it to be turned on during your stay. Neither the Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee the pool heating however. In return, you will NOT be charged for use of the pool heating.
- No smoking in the house or cottage
- Please clean the BBQ on departure or extra cleaning fee will be charged

Where will I be?

Moosewood is a short drive from Kangaroo Valley Village. It is close to Bendeela Recreation Area, many local wedding venues, the International Grammar School’s Retreat, and The Scotts College’s Glengarry rural campus.

Why choose Moosewood?

Moosewood House + Cottage has sleeps 9 in the House and an additional 2 in the Cottage just 10 metres from the house. Guests can enjoy the heated saltwater pool, large outdoor entertainment area with pizza oven, firepit, and BBQ. Fully equipped kitchen in the House + kitchenette in the Cottage and spacious living area designed to frame magnificent views of Kangaroo Valley and beyond.

How is the property laid out?

The house is a large four-bedroom, two-bathroom home which features an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. Four bedrooms are 1 x king, 2 x queens (one with extra trundle), 1 x 2 singles, and two portable cots. Please note that if you have 9 guests one guest will be sleeping on a trundle bed in one of the queen rooms.

The kitchen is stocked with basics, including tea and coffee, and is fully equipped with two high chairs, oven, microwave, two fridge freezers, and a dishwasher. Small appliances include slow cooker, rice cooker, food processor, coffee plungers, and Nespresso machine.

The separate Cottage has a double sofa bed, bathroom with shower and eco hemp toilet, and galley kitchen with dining table, fridge/freezer, small induction plate, microwave, kettle and toaster. The Cottage is heated by a wood burner, electric radiator and a fan for cooling.

Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV – will I have it?

Moosewood provides complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi. Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the Wi-Fi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please always have a backup plan. Complimentary platforms include Netflix, Prime, Disney Plus, and Apple TV.

What about outdoors?

Moosewood has multiple outdoor entertainment areas - pool, BBQ, wood-fired pizza oven, trampoline, tyre swing, competition-sized boule/pétanque court, and table tennis.

The pool is not heated during the winter months of May, June, July and August. At other times of the year, if you wish to take advantage of pool heating, please tell us when you receive this email and we will arrange for it to be turned on during your stay. Neither the Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee the pool heating however. In return, you will NOT be charged for use of the pool heating.

Staying warm or keeping cool?

The living area and bedrooms in the House all have split-system air-conditioners/heaters for your comfort. Additionally, the living area has a wood burner, which comes with complimentary wood. In the Cottage, there is a wood burner and electric radiator, as well as a free-standing fan.

What about sheets, towels, and other supplies?

Moosewood does supply quality cotton linen and bath and pool towels.

The bathrooms also include complimentary Leif toiletries.

Parking for cars, boats, etc.?

There is ample space for outdoor parking for at least 3 - 4 vehicles. An universal EV charger is also located on the side of the main house, for guest use.

Is my cat or dog also welcome to stay?

Moosewood warmly welcomes all pets. The house has a fenced garden area.

Wildlife

Moosewood is home to many iconic animals. You are likely to see kangaroos, wombats, and echidnas here. The birdlife is abundant and includes friendly king parrots and rosellas, lyrebirds, guinea fowl, and magnificent wedge-tailed eagles. All of these, however, are wild and you must remember to keep your distance and keep pets away from them, for the wellbeing of all. The Australian bush also contains snakes, spiders, and biting insects. You must take adequate precautions when outdoors, including closed-toe footwear and repellent.

What are the minimum stay rules?

- Summer season: 2 nights
- Easter: 4 nights
- Christmas and New Year: 5 nights
- Long weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights

Are there any special Summer Season rules?

During Summer Season, we may have designated changeover days to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Year’s Day public holidays.
