If you’ve been searching for an affordable way to experience the sound of crashing waves, stunning sunsets, and unbeatable waterfront views, this is it.

Located inside the gated Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club, this beautifully remodeled two-bedroom, two-bath townhome sits right at the ocean’s edge. Few properties offer this kind of location at such a strong value.

Guests love Townhome #182 for its true direct oceanfront setting—not across the street, not set back, and not a distant view. The private lanai is just steps from the shoreline, creating the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning, dine outdoors, watch sunsets, and fall asleep to the sound of the surf each night.

The home comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests with an ocean-facing bedroom featuring a Queen bed, a second bedroom with a Queen Murphy bed, and a Queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

Inside, you’ll enjoy two full bathrooms, with a walk-in shower downstairs and a tub/shower combination upstairs. The townhome also features air conditioning throughout the unit, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and a dedicated parking stall nearby for added convenience.

Overall, a good stay. One thing to note, if you’re a light sleeper, don’t sleep in the room facing the ocean as the waves are loud all night and neighbors can be loud in the late night/early morning. When we needed things or needed help, the owners are super helpful and efficient. The area is nice, lots of older folks. Loved the little outdoor area to watch the sunset at night.

Really loved the ocean front. Although 3 of the 5 days we were shuutrr-d down due to high wave advisory. Close to shopping center and restaurants and easy access for all locations arounbd the island.

Amazing stay!

Great property and awesome stay. My boyfriend and I are very happy to have chosen this location for our first visit to Hawaii. We had family staying in the same property and having this location we could invite them to watch and enjoy the sunsets and view was such a great experience to have had. It felt great having this spacious home for our stay and it truly felt like home for our stay. Thank you to the amazing hosts for the small details and for providing detergent and dishwasher pods which may not seem like a big thing but it truly was! The cleanliness and extra towels, beach towels and blankets were great. Thank you.

Great location but condo needs TLC

We loved the location of this condo so near the town and on the water. But we were disappointed by the state of it: bathroom faucet is rusty and the stopper doesn’t work, big wood section missing from the door threshold, no curtain on the slider so anyone can look in, ill-fitted window screens that allowed in bugs, rusty light fixtures, a screen door that’s hard to open and close, just three coffee mugs and all are cracked, and on and on. The owners need to spend some time repairing, painting, staining, and replacing.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As soon as we opened the door you could smell old mildew smell; and the couch and decorative pillows smelled like sweaty bodies. Apparently the last 25 guests slept on the couch instead of opening the sleeper and using sheets. Windows don’t close all the way. Hot air, bugs and noise pour in. Not enough curtain panels to cover the windowsThe sliding door “locks” by putting an old stick of pvc in place. We had family stay in three other units on the same property, and there condos were so nice. We were too embarrassed to let them see this one. The pictures are not representative of this property. We travel and rent condos several times a year. This was the worst by far.

Disappointed, great view

Not maintained. Kitchen, upstairs bathroom window did not open, other windows didn't close properly. Curtain rods too big, kept a chair in the bedroom to stand on to close curtains, I'm 5'5". Old rusty curtain brackets not removed, rusty ridge, rusty knives. Windows taped to prevent bugs coming in. Beds old need replacing. Wooden platform to cover back door, windows and covers for upstairs windows to cover all windows ocean side, weather/waves dependent. Neighbours said this happened to them for 3 days! Fanastic views, good pool. Grounds well maintained.Management did have tape removed and windows sealed, air conditioner repaired, missing curtains delivered, closet doors adjusted so they opened and closed.

Do NOT Stay Here If You Hate Bugs

We're a family of 4 who booked a 6 night stay in this Kona waterfront Town Home. Upon arrival on a Friday night we found the Master bedroom AC not blowing cool air. Being always hot, I ended up sleeping in the living room. We contacted the management company on Saturday, and they had the AC repaired by Monday afternoon.When we arrived the unit was clean, however on the second night, Saturday, bugs started entering the unit through a gap between the window frames and the screens. From the Sunday morning and every morning thereafter, for the length of our stay, I had to vacuum the kitchen, dining and living room floors and wipe down the counter tops. The bugs completely covered the counters and floors in the kitchen and dining room every night, attracted by the light I presume. I believe most of the bugs were Gnats with a few small Roaches mixed in (see attached photos). Having lived all over the planet, including Hilo, I was tolerant with the issue, but very annoyed at having to vacuum and wipe down countertops every morning. My two girls were really freaked out and refused to come downstairs until I cleaned up the mess every morning.In conclusion this rental was a huge and grotesque inconvenience. I cannot say anymore or Vrbo will not post my truthful and accurate review. Just beware before booking this Town House.

Conveniently located

We chose this stay for its convenience, close to the mall, snorkeling beach, and trolley to town as we chose to go car-less for the majority of our stay. The townhouse is right on the water, so although we love oceanfront, the waves here are loud as they crash against the lava shoreline constantly so may not be ideal for everyone. The downside to this is the unit gets boarded up in the event of high surf warnings, so you feel a bit boxed in. Perfect spot for sunset watching and sunset here goes on for a good hour or more. The pool was very nice and clean and the courts very nice to use for tennis or pickle ball. Outdoor shaded seating area and bbq’s available also. With a car you’re super close to many hidden gems outside of the actual town of Kona. The unit was as described, not yet renovated, so it had some quirks. The management company was excellent at responding to any issues we had and things were rectified immediately. Although we did have to stock up on some extra toilet paper and bring our own soap, the unit was very well stocked with towels, sheets and blankets (which is usually a huge beef with vacation rentals). Laundry soap was provided for a couple of loads (we usually bring our own and glad we did for extra loads) and proper dish washing implements were provided. This unit has newer AC which we didn’t need much given the airflow when the windows are open and ceiling fans are on. We didn’t cook much but the kitchen had most of the basics.

The townhome is quite dated and there were a number of maintenance issues during the stay. We would have needed to call a maintenance/handyman person every day if we did not simply find workarounds for the issues. I also believe that there should be a note on the reservation - if the weather is poor and the surf is high there is a safety barricade (which is totally needed and warranted) installed on the back sitting area. This barricade eliminates the access to the sea wall area and totally cuts off the view of the ocean from the lower level and makes it feel quite claustrophobic on the lower level due to limited light that enters the room. The view is the main selling point of this property and when there are several days when the barriers need to be installed for property safety can impact your experience. If I had to summarize my experience it would be as follows:Motel 8 experience with a good view but at a 4 star hotel/resort price. There was nothing negative to say about the host - the property is in need of some significant TLC/upgrades. I would not recommend to my friends due to the value for your money per night.
