For a refreshing afternoon, the 8-foot cowboy tub offers a distinctly Joshua Tree way to cool off. Just beyond the patio, hammocks invite a little downtime, while giant Jenga adds a playful option for afternoons together. The cowboy tub is seasonal and unavailable November through March.



As evening arrives, gather around the gas fire pit beneath the patio's string lights or ease into the six-person saltwater hot tub. The open mesa offers broad views of the mountains and changing desert sky. Later, the outdoor daybed gives you a place to lie back and take in the stars. It's especially fitting for a home named after the moonlight that illuminates the surrounding landscape.



-Living Area-

Inside, the open living room feels bright, cheerful, and comfortably lived in. A generous teal velvet sofa anchors the space, complemented by a colorful geometric rug, natural wood accents, and an inviting mix of contemporary furnishings. Large sliding doors open toward the desert, keeping the landscape in view even when you're relaxing indoors.



Choose a record from the vinyl collection, put on a favorite movie, or settle in for an evening of board games. A smart TV and Bluetooth speaker provide entertainment, while the indoor fireplace adds another focal point to the gathering space. The sofa also converts into an additional bed, allowing the home to accommodate up to six guests.



A convenient half bathroom serves the shared living areas.

The spacious modern kitchen makes cooking together feel like part of the getaway. A large waterfall-style island provides ample preparation space and seating for three, while stainless steel appliances, generous countertops, and a full selection of cookware make everything from leisurely breakfasts to homemade dinners easy to prepare.



Start the morning with coffee or tea while looking out over the desert through the kitchen window. A drip coffee maker, coffee, sugar, creamer, and tea are provided.



Nearby, a round dining table offers a comfortable setting for meals together, and the covered outdoor patio provides an alternative when the weather is too good to stay inside.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Moonlight Mesa offers two thoughtfully arranged king suites, making it particularly appealing for two couples traveling together. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, smart TV, and sliding glass doors connecting the space to the outdoors.



The primary suite features a king bed, a spacious walk-in closet, and a comfortable armchair. A desk provides a convenient place to work or catch up on emails, while sliding doors open directly to the front patio.



The second suite also features a king bed, smart TV, and its own workspace, along with sliding doors overlooking the desert. An ensuite bathroom and adjoining closet provide additional convenience and storage.



Both ensuite bathrooms have contemporary gray tile, glass-enclosed walk-in showers, and windows that bring in natural light. A separate half bathroom is located off the main living area.



For groups of up to six, the living room sofa bed provides additional sleeping accommodations.

Whether you're extending a weekend into a working getaway or simply need to check in with the outside world, Moonlight Mesa makes it easy to stay connected. Starlink Wi-Fi supports remote work, and dedicated desk spaces allow guests to work separately without taking over the kitchen or dining table.



When the workday ends, the hot tub and wide-open desert are just outside.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

The Neighborhood:

Moonlight Mesa is in the Hidden River neighborhood of North Joshua Tree, on the open mesa about 12 minutes from downtown. All homes in this area are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy. The last 1.5 miles to the home are dirt roads.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Please note that Moonlight Mesa is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
