Trip to wine country

Check in was done perfectly. We found several areas of concern and reported to Jeff, property mgr, and no real action. Called Lisa and she said it was really hard to get in touch with him. This was constant for the first couple days until a surprise visit from his "handyman" showed up and fixed issues. Plus a surprise visit from somebody looking at the property was another shocker to my wife. Then I got eviction notice cause there were floaties in the pool and messy rooms; this was the middle of our stay. Jeff was reluctant to talk to me, but just sent texts.I repeatedly asked him to call/talk to me.We liked lhe location, close to FredricksburgHate to totally "dis" the place since it isn't bad; but not up to normal standards I've had with other VRBO locations.Check out for us was completed leaving the location cleaner than when we arrived.

Just Perfect !!

Good messaging with Host. We a great house! The house is dated but the beds are great. The kitchen is decent size. We LOVED THIS PLACE! All the rooms are great, perfect outdoor area. The pool is great ! This place is close to wineries and grocery stores. The views are amazing, We had no issues with the house, bunkhouse, and the pool. Definitely recommend staying here! This home would be a great place for family reunions, group getaways, We will most likely stay here again.

Could Use a Little Safety Upgrade

First let me say that the place was immaculate and the pool was fantastic. Our group of nine family members (3 generations) had a great two nights and all slept very well. That said, we do have a few comments. First, the house is definetly not new with a lot of uneven floors, steps without hand rails and slippery bath tubs with no handholds. Second, the website could use a major rewrite with better corrected information and instructions. For the price, it surely was not glamorous and we had to pay over 200 for three little dogs. Not to mention the construction going on on two sides of the plot the VRBO was on. Are they building a winery and removing all the dead oak wilt trees? I guess it might end up being OK if that is what they are doing but if not, I'm not sure I would recommend Alexander's Inn especially if you are a senior citizen. Otherwise, enjoy the pool!
This a a Photo of the pool. Note what looks like a hand rail on the steps from the deck which are now missing. All those beautiful oak trees died of oak wilt and are being dug out.

Super Chill Property

We hunt annually in the area and this was the perfect property for our group. Lots of space inside and out, deer crossing in the back and the most beautiful sunrise coming through the back windows. We are looking forward to next year!

Christmas tradition

This is the second year my wife, son, and his girlfriend spent Christmas in the Hill Country. The Country Life experience was a perfect location. Comfortable property. Jeff and Alexa are excellent hosts.

Wine Country Thanksgiving

Great location for wineries around Johnson City and Fredericksburg. The accommodations were very roomy for an extended family trip. The house is dated but very clean! The pool was nice but not of use to us in Nov and outside lighting lit up the grounds at the back of the house.

Great place to stay! Quiet and Secluded.

The stay was great. It was quiet and secluded. Amenities were in great shape and was in a great location. The only issues I had were that the A/C settings on the thermostat would not go under 74 degrees so the house would get a little warm at times. Also, there was a constant beeping coming from the garage heard throughout the house and especially in the bedroom by the garage. No one could sleep in that room because of the beeping. There was no access to the garage to try and stop the beeping.

Great Weekend

We had 10 women stay the whole weekend at the house. The house was warm all weekend but that was just because it was late August in Texas. There’s no real way around that. I would recommend this place 8 days a week except for late summer. But if you aren’t there the whole time then it’s probably not as bad. And even with it being warm it was still very doable and we still had the absolute best time! We had plenty of space for everyone and the pool was great. Jeff and Alexis were incredible and were very quick to respond to ALL of my questions.

Very pleasant

The main house was very clean and well stocked. The back room with the large fan stays very warm even with the fan on so it is was a hard sleep for me personally. Pool was clean, lots of places to sit outside. House is right off the highway and less than 10 mins from Johnson City.

Family Getaway

We enjoyed the house and the annex being separate so that we as more than one family coming together still had our separate space to go to for quiet time when needed. We thought that the pool was great! Everyone who swam enjoyed it and those who didn't swim enjoyed looking on from rooms and the deck. We also loved the big table. We were a group of 13 and we were able to get the majority of our group could sit together. When we weren't eating we used the table for jigsaw puzzles and games. The location for kid friendly and family adventures was so nice. We enjoyed the Reptile zoo, drive home for a rest and lunch and then we went back to the Science Mill. Both places were great for our group. Thank you for a beautiful little place to stay with convince to fun outings and restaurants.

If you are looking for some peace and quiet away from the city this is the place to be. Close enough to restaurants and market and wineries. The nights were great with a dip in the pool.

Great stay, fun weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was clean & very spacious. The property manager communicated well & replied promptly to any questions we had. The pool was fantastic! Bring your own floaties. We used the propane firepit every night. Bed comfort was ok, shower water pressure was good, kitchen was stocked well, extra fans available in hall closet if needed. We really appreciated the coffee beans, grinder, coffee maker & sugar that is already there. There are spiders, bugs, deer & varmints - this home is in the country. It didn't bother us, though. Location was ok. It's 22 miles from Fredericksburg, so we chose to go to nearby wineries & eat out one meal closer to Johnson City. We visited Fredericksburg on our way home after checking out. We would definitely stay here again!

Annual Camp drop off

The property was beautiful and peaceful. Jeff and Alexis were amazing. We had a large group and they were extremely helpful with making sure our stay was completely peaceful and comfortable. The grandkids loved the pool and outdoors that they wanted to stay instead of going to camp in Harper, Texas. The property was a short drive to Harper. Thank you Jeff and Alexis, we look forward to staying there next year.

Amazing

Took a weekend getaway just my mom, brother and myself. We were super super excited loved the place awesome quiet and close to so many wineries. Super super clean house pool was super clean but unfortunately weather didn’t permit to use. We will definitely book again the whole family for a getaway.
