If you find yourself in Jerusalem, try to stay in this amazing apartment! We stayed there three nights and wish we could have stayed longer! We've travelled extensively, and this is one of the best properties we've found. Here's why . . .
1. The location is ideal -- instead of dealing with cab drivers (an adventure in this city) or lots of extra walking, this apartment is right in the middle of many of the places you'll want to visit. It's a 5-minute walk to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount, the City of David, and all of the Old City quarters. There are restaurants, a mini market and an ATM close by. (It is worth noting that many of the nicer restaurants are outside of the Old City, so you might leave the area for dinner. These places are still fairly close by -- a 20-minute walk or a short cab ride.)
2. The property is beautiful -- It's spacious (including the bathroom), extremely clean and has all of the amenities one could want (including a Nespresso and Soda Stream!). The owner provided milk, OJ, cottage cheese, chocolate, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a bottle of wine upon arrival. The owner also provided lovely Sabon toiletries. The beds were incredibly comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen was very well stocked (there even was cereal for breakfast). There was laundry detergent and the appliances had English instructions so it was easy to figure out how to use them. We were in town during a chilly, wet spell, and greatly appreciated the heated floors throughout the apartment! In short, there was NO SKIMPING on anything.
3. Paul, the property manager, is terrific! He was easy to work with, checked in (via WhatsApp) on our second night to make sure things were fine, responded promptly to our questions, and went above and beyond in other ways (including going out of his way to personally help us deal with a logistics issue that could have ruined our last night in town).
4. Things to know . . . as others have said (and as indicated on VRBO), there's no elevator so guests need to be able to carry their luggage (and themselves) up a couple flights of stairs. There are no cars in the Old City, but Paul will meet you at a nearby parking area (easy to find) and then will have your luggage delivered to the apartment building via golf cart.
To summarize, this apartment and our experience there were true perfection! Thank you Paul and Rova Arches!
