Cozy loft apartment with deck, nestled in the Adirondacks

Welcome to Knotty Pine Loft, situated on a quiet road in the heart of Jay, NY. Enjoy morning coffee on the private deck, overlooking the mountains.

We are situated just 1 mile from the Jay Mt. trailhead, 3.5 miles to scenic Jay Falls & the historic covered bridge, 8 miles to Whiteface Mt. and 17 miles to the heart of downtown Lake Placid.

The loft offers a private bedroom with queen bed, full bathroom. kitchen, living room with futon couch and dining nook.

The loft is located over the detached garage. There is a private home on the same property that is rented long term to a lovely, very quiet lady. The only areas that are shared are the driveway and parking.

New in 2023, Knotty Pine Loft has dedicated WIFI and is no longer shared with the main house.

Very good choice !

The appartment is very comfortable and cozy. Its location in nature is very pleasant, relaxing and peaceful. We particurlarly enjoyed the deck. We regret not having stayed longer to discover more the nice area of the Adirondacks.

Great Place/Location

This property is a true gem. It is private, clean, and in a great area for you to use as homebase for exploring the area. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The property has everything you need to feel right at home. The host is a great communicator and willing to answer any questions you may have. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Cozy little place to stay after a day of hiking

The place is very cute. Perfect for a couple. It had everything we needed. The place was very clean and kept, and considering the location and time of year not very buggy at all. The rental is also within 30 minutes of EVERYTHING. Also if you’re looking for a FANTASTIC hike 3 minutes down the road, try out Jay mountain. Tough, but you won’t regret it

A Nice Stay!

It has a nice little kitchen with most everything you are going to need to make your own food. The bed was comfortable. The landlord was very helpful in sharing where to go to get groceries etc. It was a nice stay.

Comfy “Base Camp”

Clean, close to all the towns we needed to get to for a family ancestors research quest. Also discovered Steven Kellogg, and Inez Milholland. Use the ADK Museum in Elizabethtown to do that. Hiked one peak. Need to come back to do more of that and fly fish the Ausable. The tv is not an activity for this place.

Nice quiet place to stay not comfortable though.

The stay was nice, the apt was really clean and there was all the amenities needed. We didn’t spend much time there other then relaxing before bed and actual bed. I wish there would have been a review about how uncomfortable the furniture was so I am gonna let you know if you have any back issues or just like comfort this is not the place for you. The cushion on the futon in the living room was flattened so it felt like you were sitting on metal and the bed was like sleeping on plywood. However there are several different pillows to try and plenty of blankets. Don’t turn on the a/c, it sounds like an airplane engine for about 10 minutes and the minute you get use to it… it shuts off and about 5 minutes later it restarts the cycle. The location is nice there is a fire pit and there are huge windows to help with airflow.

Cozy spot with everything we needed. Good location, clean, enough space; enjoyed the deck and firepit. Solid wifi connection. We had a great stay and will consider staying here again next time we're in the ADK!

The cabin was immaculately clean, and the bed & bedding were very comfortable, meeting our top criteria for accommodations. All possible necessities for daily living were thoughtfully available. The decor was rustic and cozy - rather like visiting a granny's home; setting was quiet. Too bad the house immediately next door obliterated much of the view of the mountain, but there was a lovely view of the trees surrounding the loft.

A Retreat in Beautiful Adirondack

There are beautiful natural sites to visit around the area. I was looking for a retreat type get away and I found it. I also had the opportunity to visit and shop in downtown areas like Lake Placid that was lots of fun! But mostly enjoyed the peace and joy in the soul you experience when surrounded by nature.

A weekend getaway for Our 33rd wedding anniversary

This was my first trip to the Adirondacks area and the apartment was perfect ! it was private yet not far from the places we wanted to visit, it was clean and cozy and it had everything we needed and at a reasonable price, I would recommend this place for any nice little getaway.

Great rental in Jay!

We enjoyed our stay. The unit is a separate structure on the back part of a larger property, with enough privacy/seclusion from the main house. All the features and amenities were in good shape and functioned well. The location was close to hiking trails and not far from the main highway that connects back to the town of Jay and over to Lake Placid. Great spot for a summer getaway!
