BEARS DEN LOG CABIN
Peace & Quiet. By Design!
Welcome to Bears Den, one of just three handcrafted log cabins at Rocky Mountain Escape, set on 68 acres of private wilderness in the heart of Rock Lake Provincial Park.
If you're looking to escape busy campgrounds, crowded tourist areas and constant notifications, you've found it.
Our cabins are thoughtfully spaced apart to give every guest privacy, peace and the chance to truly reconnect with nature.
A True Off-Grid Experience: Getting here is part of the Adventure. 4wd/Awd recommended.
This isn't camping... and it isn't a hotel.
It's the perfect balance between comfort and wilderness.
Bears Den offers all the comforts you need while allowing you to completely disconnect from everyday life.
Inside you'll find:
• Queen-size bed with luxury bedding • Double fold-down futon (sleeps up to 4 guests) • Private bathroom with full bath and hot shower • Indoor plumbing • Kitchenette with refrigerator, sink and propane burner for hot drinks • All towels, bedding, crockery, cookware and utensils provided • Complimentary tea, locally roasted coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper
Outside you'll enjoy:
• Private covered deck overlooking the forest • Propane griddle for outdoor cooking • Fire pit with complimentary firewood • Adirondack chairs perfect for relaxing after a day exploring
Unplug. Slow Down.
There is no cell service, no Wi-Fi and no television.
For many guests, that's the highlight of their stay.
Swap emails for campfires.
Trade screens for stars.
Wake up to birdsong instead of alarm clocks.
Sit quietly on your deck and watch wildlife wander past.
It's amazing how quickly life slows down.
Wildlife Around Every Corner
Rocky Mountain Escape is home to an incredible variety of wildlife.
Our trail cameras have also captured black bears, grizzly bears, lynx, wolverines, wolves, mountain goats and much more.
Every visit is different.
Endless Adventure
Located just 7 km from beautiful Rock Lake, we're perfectly positioned for exploring some of Alberta's most spectacular wilderness.
Surrounded by Rock Lake Provincial Park, adjacent to Jasper National Park and bordering the Willmore Wilderness, outdoor adventures begin right from your cabin.
Don't miss Hoff Ridge, a spectacular hike that starts from our property and is featured on AllTrails, rewarding hikers with breathtaking 360-degree mountain views.
Designated a Dark Sky Destination!
When darkness falls, the real show begins.
With virtually no light pollution, Rocky Mountain Escape offers exceptional stargazing opportunities. On clear nights you'll witness thousands of stars stretching across the sky, the Milky Way overhead and, if conditions are right, the magical Northern Lights dancing above the mountains.

Relax & Unplug
Enjoy a hike down by the river. Take a hike around the loop. Spend some hours by avalanche chute up part way or the whole way up. Cabins are very cozy. Enjoy nature and the wildlife.
