This was the worst experience EVER! My daughters and I and my three grandchildren (one infant/two toddlers) were to stay one night while I prepared another home for our business crew's two week stay in the area. We had arranged to check in early, but, due to traveling with three babies, we ended up getting there about 15 minutes after regular check-in time. The home was filthy and the balcony railing was damaged. There were tools and other items strewn throughout the unit. I went outside to check and make sure I was in the right place. At this point the owner zoomed up on the residential street in his sports car - shirtless. I began speaking with him through his car window about the condition of the unit and another couple drove up and started yelling at ME because he had driven so fast down the residential street. When I told him there was no way I could let my grandchildren crawl around this unit he apologized and said he would get someone over to clean it up. Even though we had been on the road for 6+ hours, I told him we would leave for a couple of hours and give him time to clean it up. I came back almost three hours later and the unit hadn't been touched. It was now after 7:00 and I had three very cranky babies who needed to go to bed and two VERY stressed out moms. Again, he zoomed up in his sports car, still shirtless and not at all professional. I told him there was no way I could put my family in that unit and that I would have to try to find someplace else for us to stay the night. He said he would refund my money (which included a cleaning deposit - ha!!) and that he was sorry. I left and tried to find a place for the 6 of us to stay ... at the last minute ... on the beach ... in July. I did not hear from him again. Two weeks later, after no refund, my husband and son (who were working with our crew in the area) went by to see if they could speak to him about the refund (he lived in the unit next door). He was there with his parents. They all apologized and assured us there would be a refund made. They gave us their cell numbers. No refund was ever made. No cell phones were ever answered. VRBO said that since I didn't make an official cancellation, they could not insist he make a refund, only a request. I finally called the construction business (the company they all own) and got a hold of the mother. She assured me again there would be a refund. Two months later - no refund, no communication. BUYER BEWARE!!
