Cozy Island Park Basecamp Near Yellowstone – Walk to River
Welcome to Caldera Cottage, a cozy and comfortable cabin tucked into the pines of Island Park, Idaho — about 35 - 45 minutes from Yellowstone’s West Entrance and just a short 5-minute walk to the river and neighborhood boat launch.
This is the kind of place people come when they want to spend their days outside exploring and their evenings relaxing under big Idaho skies.
Start your mornings with coffee on the covered porch, spend the day in Yellowstone, fishing the Henry’s Fork, boating the reservoir, or riding the many ATV and snowmobile trails nearby, then come back to the cottage to grill dinner, sit around the fire pit, and watch the stars come out.
Caldera Cottage is a true cottage-style mountain getaway — clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up for guests who value location, comfort, and outdoor adventure more than large indoor gathering space.
The Space
The cottage sits on just under a quarter acre in a quiet Island Park neighborhood right along the edge of the national forest and close to the river.
The home features:

The layout works great for families, couples traveling together, fishing trips, and Yellowstone adventurers.
Outdoor Space
One of the best parts of staying here is the outdoor setting.
The cottage has a fenced backyard, which is especially nice if you’re traveling with dogs. There’s a picnic table for outdoor meals and a fire pit for evenings under the stars.
You’re also just a short walk to the river and neighborhood boat launch, making it easy to fish, float, or simply enjoy the water.

Caldera Cottage is located in the Rancho McCrea area of Island Park, a quiet neighborhood surrounded by forest and close to outdoor recreation.
