Beaver Bay Cabin — Your Private Point on Tug Lake

Tucked onto a private two-acre wooded point, Beaver Bay Cabin puts you in the middle of the water instead of just next to it, from the deck, you’ll see Tug Lake on three sides. It’s a quiet, low-traffic lake that’s ideal for fishing, kayaking, and genuinely unwinding, and the cabin takes its name from Beaver Bay just to the west, where years of beaver activity have left the shoreline trees chewed and the whole cove looking like something out of a nature documentary.

Inside, this cozy two-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin offers a king bed, a full bed, and a bunk bed, a flexible setup that works well for a couple getting away, a family, or two couples traveling together. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests, so there’s genuine room to spread out rather than squeeze in. Unwind in the cabin’s sauna after a day on or in the water, and rest easy knowing the cabin is heated by a brand-new system we just installed, whatever the season, you’ll stay warm. The dock goes out from May through September, so summer and early fall guests have direct lake access right from the yard.

Beyond the water, Beaver Bay Cabin is built for getting outside in every season. Drive your own UTV or ATV straight from the house to the trail system, no trailering required, or head out on foot, as the cabin sits close to the Ice Age Trail for hikers who’d rather explore on two feet. Set just north of Merrill, you’re also a short drive from Wausau, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, and Minocqua if you want a day of shopping, dining, or exploring the wider Northwoods. Winter visitors are close to Granite Peak Ski Area near Wausau for skiing and snowboarding, close enough for an easy day trip from the cabin.

Maximum occupancy is 6 guests.
Like many Northwoods lakes, Tug Lake can experience seasonal algae, particularly in late summer — the lake remains swimmable, and we want guests to know what to expect before they arrive.
High-speed WiFi will be available starting November 8, 2026.
This is a quiet, private retreat — sorry, no pets.
An attached garage is available for guest use and parking.
