Stylish Flat with Stunning Sea Views, Ilfracombe

Summary:
This stylish second floor apartment is nestled in the stunning coastline above Ilfracombe in Devon. There are unmatchable sea views, and you're conveniently situated just a walk away from Ilfracombe's town centre and beaches.

The Space:
Inside, everything has been finished to a high standard and colourful furnishings add to the warm, homely feel. The large open-plan living room leads onto a kitchen where you will find all the appliances you need to cook hearty meals. There is also a coffee machine and washing machine.

Mesmerising sea views can be best enjoyed from the large window seat that leads off from the kitchen, or from the comfortable sofa at sunset. Next door, the well-sized bedroom oozes tranquillity and boasts a large king-size bed (that can also be made up as two singles) alongside a chest of drawers and clothes rail. The family bathroom has been well-maintained and comes with both a shower and a bath for relaxing evening soaks.

Downstairs, there is a sunny, courtyard garden that is shared between the apartments. There are unobstructed sea views all around making it the perfect spot for an evening tipple or two! This wonderful apartment is ideal for those who want to enjoy the very best of Devon's coastline; there's paid parking close by and you can easily walk to beaches or the harbourside with its brilliant selection of pubs and restaurants.

Dogs are welcome with a fee of ÂŁ20/dog (max 2). It is on the condition they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or in the bedrooms.

The Neighborhood:
Situated on the North Devon coastline, Ilfracombe is a traditional seaside town that's grown more and more popular over recent years. The pretty fishing harbour is surrounded by rugged cliffs and provides beautiful coastal scenery for walkers and beach-goers. The town has swiftly become an up-and-coming foodie destination with a varied selection of restaurants and pubs. Head to Seventy One Bistro for modern British cuisine, The Terrace for tapas or Antidote for fresh, local seafood.

Ilfracombe is also renowned for artist Damien Hirst's famous 20m high sculpture, Verity, as well as its collection of local galleries which feature a mix of local and international artists. If you're visiting in May, you'll be able to take in the town's Art Trail - with its open studios, live music and locally produced food markets.

The unique Tunnels Beaches were hand carved in the 1820s and have been rated the ‘3rd best beach for rock pooling in the UK’ by BBC Wildlife Magazine. Kids will love exploring the tidal pool whilst adults can sit back and relax in the sun. Lee Bay is a 10-minute drive away, whilst the infamous Woolacombe Beach is 15-minutes. This huge sprawl of beach is brilliant if you're after golden sands and great surf. The far end of Woolacombe Beach, Putsborough Sands, is great for dogs and allows them all year around.

Devon is known for its Tarka Trail, a 180 mile cycling and walking route that traverses unspoiled countryside, dramatic sea cliffs and beautiful beaches. From Ilfracombe, you can pick up the route all the way down to Braunton and Saunton Sands, passing the beautiful Woolacombe and Georgeham village.

Getting Around:
Whilst we would advise having a car to make the most of the gorgeous North Devon coastline, the convenient location of the apartment means you can enjoy Ilfracombe and its beaches by foot. Barnstaple train station is a 25-minute drive or bus away, and here you can catch a connecting train to Exeter St Davids and then onto London Paddington.

Weekly parking permits for The Ropery Car Park can be arranged in advance for a cost of ÂŁ40 per week, via Ilfracombe Tourist Information Office. They will post the permit to you for a small fee.

Other Things to Note:
The apartment is reached by two flights of stairs, as well as steps up from the street.

Can’t fault this apartment. The stairs are a challenge but the view completely makes up for it. Very clean and well presented. Very nice touch with the provided hand wash, hand crùme, body, wash and shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Would highly recommend. Beautiful apartment. Thank you we will be back xxx

A very nice place with everything we needed and we had a most enjoyable stay. We felt it was a little difficult to find as Capstone Crescent followed on from Capstone Road without any clear signing but we had great support from the contact provided. It’s on the second floor which we managed without any issues and so did our 11 year old dog! Car parking to offload may be challenging during high season. Overall very good and would stay again should we head back down to north Devon. Many thanks!

The amazing views from the living room/kitchen really make this accommodation special. Location wise it was perfect for coastal dog walks. The local Italian, The smugglers inn & Adele’s cafe were our favourites for food and drinks.

We had a few days away as we had some business in the area. The property is nice and clean and the views from the window seat are stunning. We stayed in January which is probably a bad time to go away as most of Ilfracombe is shut. The area is great for walks but be prepared to cook for yourself in January although we did find a nice Italian within walking distance. The sofa in the lounge had splits on the cushions but the bed was comfortable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The property is very well looked after and in a perfect location overlooking the sea. It was ideal for a couple, and had everything that we needed. Ilfracombe seems to have great potential and, maybe, needs a bit of investment, but its surrounding landscapes/seascapes are spectacular, perfect for cliff walks and exploring beaches and caves. There are some good restaurants and many gorgeous places of interest within 30-60 minutes' drive.

Erg leuk appartement. Met vol uitzicht op zee. Er had vermeld mogen worden dat het op de tweede verdieping is. We mochten gebruik maken van het terras op de begane grond. geen idee hoe daar te komen. Uiteindelijk gevonden, maar er was een poort met cijferslot. Uiteindelijk kregen we de code, maar die werkte niet !
