Almost Heaven | Creekside Retreat, Spa & Walk to Town

Set along Strawberry Creek beneath towering pines, Almost Heaven captures the classic Idyllwild experience with historic mountain charm, a private spa, and an easy walk to town. Originally built in 1923 and thoughtfully expanded over the years, this four-bedroom, three-bath retreat comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests, giving families and friends plenty of space to gather while preserving the character that makes the home special.

At the heart of the cabin is the spacious grand room, where a brick fireplace, handmade vintage cedar furniture, and warm mountain details create an inviting place to spend time together. Settle in for a movie on the 65-inch Smart TV, cozy up by the fire, or simply enjoy a quiet evening after a day exploring the mountains.

The well-equipped kitchen makes preparing meals for the group easy and includes a cozy gathering space with a Franklin stove and coffee bar. Brew your morning coffee before heading out to the porch or deck to enjoy the fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings.

Step onto the back deck and you'll find one of Almost Heaven's best features. Surrounded by towering trees and overlooking seasonal Strawberry Creek, it's a beautiful setting for slowing down and enjoying the mountains. Soak in the private spa beneath the pines, gather around the 12-foot cedar picnic table for an outdoor meal, or relax and listen to the creek when the water is flowing. A gas BBQ is also available for easy afternoons and evenings at the cabin.

When you're ready to explore, leave the car behind and take a short walk into town to discover Idyllwild's restaurants, shops, and small-town mountain charm. At the end of the day, return to your creekside retreat for a relaxing soak in the spa or an evening gathered around the fireplace.

Sleeping Arrangements
Bedroom 1: King bed, spacious sitting area, and Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared with Bedroom 2.
Bedroom 2: Two double beds with access to the shared Jack-and-Jill bathroom.
Bedroom 3: Queen bed with a rustic pine frame and cozy sitting area. Bathroom access is available through Bedroom 2 or from the deck through the kitchen.
Bedroom 4: King bed with a private bathroom and views overlooking the deck.
A third bathroom with a classic clawfoot tub and shower is located between the grand room and kitchen.

From morning coffee beneath the pines and afternoons exploring Idyllwild to creekside evenings and relaxing soaks in the spa, Almost Heaven offers a memorable mountain escape with space to reconnect, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of Idyllwild.

Streaming services are available, but guests must log in using their accounts.
This vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning.

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund, plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations Allowed for November, December, and January

- NO ANIMALS ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. SERVICE ANIMALS ARE NOT ALLOWED DUE TO THE HOMEOWNER BEING ALLERGIC. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Check-in instructions: On your arrival day, the reserving guest will receive a text with check-in instructions between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. Please stop by our office to retrieve your key from the lockbox.

- Parking: Free parking is available for 3 vehicles.

- County permit number: 001444

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.

Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2, we no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21. Those under 25 will provide an additional insurance for $70.00 non-refundable on the day of arrival.

Seasonal wood delivery: There is a $28 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces) if available. Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.

- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.

- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.
