Remodeled French Country Style Cottage Close to Hiking Trails and Hot Springs

I am called The Betty Trail House. I was built in the late 1800's and am named after my first location, which was 5 miles away near the Betty Place Trailhead. This trail was named after my owner. I sheltered my family there until around 1940, when I was moved to my current location. I also increased in size with a new kitchen and bedroom. I was built with wide plank boards, and I sit on strong wormy chestnut beams. My current owners have raised my ceilings in the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, which shows off my wide plank boards. They also made me warmer and safer by adding insulation and new wiring (I feel energized now). I have the character of an old home with upgraded modern conveniences, such as central heat and air, a dish washer, and a wonderful bathroom. I also have a hot tub on a big private back patio and a large yard. I am located 2.5 miles from Hot Springs NC.

The cozy cottage

The place was very clean and nice. The hot tub was in perfect condition. Very clean and the temperature was right on. The hot springs area was also a really pretty area with lots of views.

Beautiful cozy cottage

This was the perfect getaway, my partner and I spent Valentine’s Day here and it was so peaceful and cozy. The hosts were wonderful, quick to respond and made their space very welcoming.

Overall good stay

House inside was very clean, jacuzzi water was not very clean though and the location of the house itself is great but neighboring dogs are barking and howling constantly so couldn’t get much peace and quiet outside. Overall it was a pretty good stay though!

Cottage in the mountains

This is our second time staying at the cottage and we just loved it more this time. A perfect location to everything we were wanting to do around the mountains. The cottage itself is just a lovely place with so much character. My wife, pup and I stayed and was just the perfect space for us. We didn’t use all the outdoor amenities but it was nice to know that it was available. Overall it just one of our favorite places to be. Would love to come back again!

What a gem!

The cottage is even cuter than the pictures. Beautifully landscaped property with several places to enjoy coffee or cocktails. Viewing the mountains from the hot tub is amazing! Close drive to town or hiking trails We would stay here again!!

Spring peepers!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Betty Trail House. It had wonderful opportunities for us to explore some of the hidden gems of Madison County at our leisure and to relax at the end of the day in an adorable little house on one of the many scenic drives in the county. We enjoyed evenings on the front porch after the rains, rocking and listening to spring peepers and hearing the rush of the creek just across the road from us. Everything about our little place was done in good taste and with love and all of it made us feel quite welcome and at Home! Everything we needed was provided. All we needed to do was kick back and relax and that is exactly what we did. Thank you, Sherry and Len for a delightful vacation!

Nice, Quiet Place

Clean and well appointed, and very well maintained. We had an issue the last morning we were there (no water), possibly due to a power outage during the night. The hosts came very quickly and fixed it, and even allowed us a late departure to get in a shower before we left. Not sure if it was related or not, but the water pressure in the shower was very low after the water was turned back on. Very convenient to Hot Springs (less than 10 minutes), we would stay here again.

Quiet Relaxing Weekend

This rental was nice. It was clean, bathroom and kitchen stocked with what you would need. The mountains were within view. This would make a great getaway for a couple for sure. If you do have more than 2 people, the hot tub only has room for 2, so plan on taking turns. But the upside is that the cover is really nice and is easy to remove and put back, unlike so many other rentals with hot tubs where the cover is in bad shape. Nice big shower! Note, only one bathroom door has a lock, so you do need to lock the main bedroom door in order to have full privacy in the bathroom. If you got kiddos, bring some things for them to do as there is only a deck of playing cards. But most people that come to this area will be out exploring most of the time anyway. Overall, we enjoyed our stay even though we had to check out a day early because our youngest wasn’t feeling well. We would absolutely recommend this rental to couples looking for a getaway! We come to Madison CO, NC a few times a year because it’s just such a beautiful area.

Simply Perfect

Cozy and beautiful

We had the best time during our stay. This house is so cute and you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into the home. Very unique, with lots of old wood and beautiful pieces throughout. The house was clean and very close to downtown Hot Springs. We had an issue with the hot tub turning on (it was just a breaker flipped) and the owner came right over and fixed it immediately. They were very kind, responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again!
