Thank you for considering staying with us at Habaru. We are happy to inform you that our accommodation is a Tourism Gold Standard Recognized Accommodation, which means we have implemented strict measures to mitigate any COVID risks for our guests and employees, including disinfecting all surfaces, cleaning, and sanitation of all high touch areas. We sparkle!
Habaru House apartment 31G is a ground floor, ocean front apartment of Habaru House. It is a deluxe apartment with a queen-sized bedroom for up to two people.
South of Hopkins Village proper, Habaru House is a 12-20 minute walk to outstanding oceanfront restaurants and several roadside eateries in an area we call “South Hopkins”. The Village proper is a short bicycle ride away on one of our owner-supplied bicycles.
It is a terrific home base for all your Belize adventures. We are fortunate to be located on one of the nicest beaches in the country. Enjoy the beautiful oceanfront from the white sand beach or ground floor covered patio with its exotic cane ceiling. On the beach for your use are beach chairs, a lazy day hammock, and an outside charcoal grill.
Habaru House 31G boasts an open living area on the ground floor with three sets of ocean-facing French doors opening onto the separate, covered patio. Local artwork and wall hangings enhance the inside atmosphere. If you choose to cook in you will enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with exotic wood cabinets adjacent to the dining and living areas.
The flooring is Mexican tile, while all exterior and interior trim is Belize mahogany. The interior doors are hand made from local “poison wood”, known for its outstanding wood grain. The spacious master bedroom has walk-in shower with glass surround and a unique hand-carved stone sink.
31G is a ground floor unit with its entrance and lock box facing the ocean. Above it is Habaru House, a four bedroom, four bath accommodation on the 2nd and 3rd floors, rented separately. Some families rent top and bottom (31G) and take advantage of the internal connecting / locked-off stair well. Please see VRBO 9700160 to see Habaru House.

The fishing is wonderful! If fresh lobster and conch are in season and something you are looking for, you have come to the right place! The close-by hotels have the best restaurants in Belize, in our opinion. Or even better, go into the village and eat at one of the local restaurants to enjoy a local, cultural “Garifuna” dish.
This apartment features all of the comforts of home: flat screen TV, CD player, high-end appliances, reading materials. You will not be roughing it on this Belize adventure! Check out the photos.
Don’t feel like cleaning, cooking, or doing the laundry on vacation? We can arrange all of these for an additional charge. Make your vacation a true vacation!. Transportation to and from Dangriga airport or from BZE International is also available.
A full time property manager and staff maintains our property. They rake the beaches, arrange for the kayaks, and handle any of your concerns; just ask. They treat guests as family and want you to truly enjoy your vacation.
How to get here: Major airlines fly into Belize International Airport (BZE). From there you have options: rent a car and drive down to Hopkins (about a 2-2.5 hour drive on the beautiful Hummingbird Highway or 1.5 hours on the faster, though less scenic, Coastal Highway. Or, take one of the regional carriers (Tropic Air or Maya Air) to the Dangriga Airport; from there it is only a short 20-25 minute taxi ride to the property.
