Beautiful Barbados Villa - St James - with beach membership

Welcome to our lovely Barbados home ‘Tickety Blue’ in the Parish of St James; on the West Coast, the coast of incredible sunsets, sometimes known as the Gold Coast or the Platinum Coast. This three en-suite bedroom property is in a beautifully maintained private secure gated community just minutes from the powdery white-sandy beaches, just North of Holetown.

Check out the famous Royal Fairmont Hotel & Glitter Bay development; we are just across the road from these historic St James’ locations. The Colony Club Hotel & Heron Bay are just South along the beach. Further along is Mango Bay, then Holetown together with the luxury Lime Grove Shopping Centre & the town’s incredible restaurants, bars & designer shops; then it’s onto the acclaimed Tides Restaurant & a few name drops later Sandy Lane. To the North you have JuJu’s Beach Bar & the Lone Star Restaurant
. Now, you’ve got your film set bearings you’ll realise it’s all about ‘Location, Location, Location!’ Oh yes & we’re throwing in membership for the renowned Royal Fairmont Hotel Beach Club for your stay!

Our house ‘Tickety Blue’ is a relaxing, romantic, private, well appointed holiday, rest or work location. Modern, fresh, open plan kitchen, dining & living room areas lead through to a private patio terrace & private plunge pool area; perfect for outside dining, seating, entertaining or just ‘liming’ or chilling! Terrace dining table & chairs for relaxed breakfasts or brunches, lazy lunches & evening meals. Ceiling fans, rattan chairs & sofa for sundowners or pre dinner drinks. Webber BBQ, sun loungers, indigenous plants, a pleasing water feature & ambient garden lighting further enhance.

The kitchen is well serviced with modern electric cooker, hob, microwave, granite work tops, dish washer, fridge freezer, washing machine & a utility room c/w spin drier. Filter coffee maker, liquidiser, kettle, toaster, wine glasses together with dining & cooking utensils are all provided.

The lounge area has three large settees & cable tv for entertainment & film; for that relaxed evening. An indoor dining area further compliments this space; dining table & chairs together with Champagne bucket enhance that tranquil evening of cherished moments & memories.

All these areas are serviced by modern air conditioning &/or efficient ceiling fans. There’s a downstairs ‘restroom’ & in the little storeroom under the stairs there are beach deck chairs, tennis racquets for the community tennis court & some holiday home stuff. Please note that this property has fast fibre broad band servicing the whole house!

Now, as we climb the stairway you will notice the incredible height of the ceilings; ambient & stylish; a practical & historic way of keeping things cool. Then the bedrooms
 there’s a pattern of comfort, balconies, air conditioning, en-suite restrooms, fibre Wi-Fi & simple everyday requirements. At the top of the stairway we have the Guest Second Bedroom. A Queen Size Bed, French windows leading onto a private balcony; modern fan & air conditioning keeps the Guest Second Bedroom ambient. A fitted wardrobe complete with an en-suite single basin restroom with walk in shower, bath towels, apothecary jars, hair dryer & beach towels.

Along the hallway landing to the Master Bedroom with an American King Size bed, French windows lead onto a private balcony; modern fan & air conditioning keeps your Master Bedroom at your temperature of choice. A fitted wardrobe walkway c/w ironing board & iron, leads into an en-suite double basin restroom with walk in shower, bath towels, apothecary jars, hair dryer & beach towels.

The Guest First Bedroom is on the opposite side of the hallway landing. A Queen Size Bed, again French windows leading onto a private balcony; modern fan & air conditioning keeps the Guest First Bedroom at a temperature of choice. A fitted wardrobe walkway leads into an en-suite single basin restroom with walk in shower, bath towels, apothecary jars, hair dryer & beach towels.

Remember Porters Gate is a gated community located in a prime spot on the West Coast of Barbados, minutes away from amazing beaches. A prime location within walking distance to nearby beaches and restaurants. The Royal Fairmont Hotel Beach Club Membership is at your disposal; sun-loungers & sunshades are available on request. Opulence? You will love all this!

Time away from the beach? There is also a large communal pool on site at Porters Gate. Relax on the sun beds by the pool with a Banks beer or a glass of something? Possibly a rum sour, refreshing coconut, ice cold water or maybe a Planter’s Punch? ‘Anyone for tennis?’ There is a tennis court which we provide rackets and balls to use. There is also a table tennis table in the clubhouse.

The rental satisfied our needs of nine nights for a family celebration. Roomy and comfortable. A few minor glitches where quickly solved by Marcea.We had hoped that access to the Fairmont Beach Club would be a highlight of our stay. The web doesn't show much about it; only the Fairmont Resort facilities, which is different from the Beach Club. When we checked it out, we were disappointed and never used it. We had hoped it included a swimming pool (the Fairmont pool), but it was simply a small beach, a few chairs and umbrellas, a bar and young men hanging out to sell water sport adventures. We chose instead to go further up to the beach in front of Ju Ju's where we rented beach chairs and umbrellas.

We have a lovely stay at Cal's property - it had everything we needed, rooms are fantastic all with en-suites.Location, is great - bus stops are just outside. Fairmont is a 8 min walk away, and is perfect for the whole day, walk along the beach to Juju's great Fish Cutters! We explored using buses - Speightstown which we loved. Just a note, Massy's is quite expensive so we did venture on the bus to Jordans, where you can find all the groceries for a much better price. Overall, the location, property was perfect, just what we needed for 11 nights in Barbados. It was super safe, everyone is very friendly and Marcia was great! She was super lovely and really great at communicating with us. We also loved the outdoor area, and plunge pool!! Kitchen had all the amenities, so you'll be fine! Washing machine was also a huge plus! Thank you so much for letting us stay! We have a fabulous time! xx

We had a great stay in the villa which is well equipped with all that you would need. Games for the children too were appreciated. Marcia very kindly let us check in early and check out later as we had an early evening flight. The location is great being close to the beach, restaurants and shops. We got a croissant every morning from the bakery which was walking distance. The only downside was the construction work going on next door which meant a peaceful relax by the pool was not possible. We did enjoy the Fairmont and did lots of exploring the island.

I would certainly highly recommend this property for rental in St James Barbados. The location close to Holetown is ideal; and the property is immaculately maintained as are the beautiful grounds of the secure complex it lies within. The patio is a sun trap for those days you just want to relax around the plunge pool to cool off and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals if you prefer not to venture out. Each room is en-suite, which meant no queuing for showers or toilets. Access to the easy walkable Fairmont Beach Hotel is a valued bonus. Our favourite Bajan restaurant is also within walking distance along the main road or our preference along the beautiful beach .

We loved our stay in Tickety Blue, with the hosts doing everything they could to make the stay run smoothly. The house is just as described - great sized rooms all with effective air conditioning, a great downstairs with a good sized indoor dining table and lounge, and a lovely outside with a small pool and seating areas. The small estate that the house is on is great, with a bigger pool, tennis court (although a little too hot to play!) and table tennis. The real jewel in the crown was the access to the Fairmont's Beach Club, a short walk away (although across one quite busy road). This gave access to sun-loungers and umbrella's on a fantastic beach. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely try to get back here as soon as we can!

Our stayvwas great ..communication with the owner was great theyvwas understanding and very helpful..the properly Manger Marciar hope i spelled that right was pleasant and helpful..the property was fabulous house was big clean and everything was there in the house we needed..will stay again..and it was pretty close to alot ...go to Jordan grocery store..seems to be a bit cheaper..and rent a car if u can its better in savings

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was lovely, well equipped, spacious and in a great location. The property manager, Marcia, was great - one of the air conditioning units stopped working late one evening and she arranged an engineer to visit within the hour to fix it. Would definitely stay there again.

What an amazing house Tickety Blue is. Six of us stayed, each in our own en-suite room. The house had everything you could possibly need while on holiday. Marcia the property manager was lovely and very helpful. Natalie, the housekeeper came in to change sheets and towels. The house is a 5 minute walk to the beach at the Fairmount Royal Pavillion hotel, beach club cards are provided so you have use of sun beds and a discount off your rum sour. I highly recommend Tickety Blue if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Barbados.

Good space. Well stocked kitchen with a good supply of essentials and coffee. Nice touches of slippers and bathrobes - something we don’t see in vacation rentals. TV has many channels. House and pool super clean. Pool has jets. Plenty of towels. Good to have Beach Club passes. Excellent communication with owners. Great property manager, Marcia, who helped arrange all of our taxis including a 4:30am pick up on our day of departure.

Very nice place in a secluded area. While we where there they were doing construction around development but it did not cause any type of inconveniences for us. Home is a few miles from Holetown and walkable. Buses are very easy and cheap to ride. The only inconvenience we experienced is the hot water in the morning was good for about 1 shower and there were 6 of us. We failed to mention until a day before leaving which was our mistake. Seems there was a hot water booster in a room off the kitchen we could have pushed for more hot water. Instead we just took shifts for showering lol Very happy with the VRBO. Also Cal was very helpful with all my questions before and during our stay.

"Tickety Blue" is located in a quiet, gated complex of townhomes on the west side of the island. Very convenient to shopping, restaurants, etc. It has three BR/BA plus a powder room (plenty of room to spread out) a very well-equipped kitchen, and a lovely, private plunge pool out back.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Tickety Blue! The villa was immaculately clean, and well situated in a gated community. The plunge pool was used multiple times daily to cool off from the hot sun, and was just the right size. The use of the Fairmont Beach Club was a huge bonus, as we were just a 8-10 minute walk away. This villa is a short walk to many great restaurants such as JuJu’s, Seacat, Lonestar, and Juma's. The property manager Marcia was a pleasure to work with and was always available to help us out and answer any questions that we had. We look forward to returning during our next trip to Barbados!

We have stayed in the area many times before but this was our first time staying in this villa and we will definitely return. The decor is tasteful and very in keeping with the property. Having three double rooms each with a decent bathroom was a treat. The outdoor area is lovely and was used a lot. We have nothing but good things to say about the villa and our dealings with Cal and when in Barbados Marcia who was always helpful. Thank you for having us in your beautiful home.

We stayed at Villa Tickety Blue in April 2022. Can’t speak highly enough about the owners and property manager, nothing is too much trouble for them. We have stayed in Barbados many times but have to say this was our favourite. It is a short walk to the most perfect beach and the French bakery is amazing! The villa itself is exceptionally clean, well maintained and well equipped, but it’s the little touches that made it special. Will most definitely book this villa again.
