Platypus House is a great choice for guests travelling with pets. The property has a fully fenced yard, providing a secure outdoor space for your furry companions.

All pets are welcome except cats. Please ensure pets are supervised and respect the house and surrounding property during your stay.

🌿 Wildlife & Bushland

Enjoy walking trails, peaceful bushland and the opportunity to see native wildlife including wallabies, echidnas, blue-tongue lizards and birds. Farm animals may also be seen around the property.

There are no streetlights, making the area wonderful for stargazing and enjoying the night sky. On clear nights, you may even have the opportunity to see the Aurora Australis.

Please be aware that insects and other natural bushland wildlife are part of the experience.

🌱 Off-Grid Living

Platypus House operates using tank water, solar power, generators, gas and a greywater system. Guests are asked to be mindful of water and energy use during their stay.

🚗 Getting Here

Access includes bitumen and well-maintained gravel roads. A car is strongly recommended, as there is no regular public transport to the property. Taxis and Uber may be available, although availability can vary.

Please drive carefully, particularly at night, as there are no streetlights and wildlife may be active around the roads.

🔑 Self Check-In

Guests have full private access to Platypus House and the fully fenced yard. Self check-in is available via a lockbox.

All guests are required to complete our online Check-In Form and provide valid photo identification before arrival. The form contains our House Rules and Terms & Conditions. Once completed, guests will receive their self check-in and access details.
