'Elizabeth House' in prime Hobart CBD location

Summary:
This special apartment is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit to Hobart. Quirky and cool with high ceilings and lots of character and charm, enjoy the convenience of being able to walk to everywhere with the CBD literally on your doorstep. The apartment has two large bedrooms, each with a QB. There is no parking with the apartment however on street parking is readily available and all inner-city attractions are literally minutes away on foot.

The Space:
Styled for comfort with a homely feel and large scale murals throughout, the hallway even features our state's unofficial mascot - Tasmanian 'Taz' Devil.

Relax into the living area with views out onto Elizabeth Street and retire for the night in one of two bedrooms both furnished with queen beds (n.b one bedroom has a skylight and *no* conventional window in case this is an issue for some people). The kitchen is fully set up for cooking and you can either eat informally at the bench or there is a separate dining room for a more formal dining experience.

The apartment is only a couple of blocks from the Elizabeth Street Mall - you will find everything you need in the CBD including a major supermarket. The hospital is only 5 minutes walk and the MONA ferry is an easy 10 minute stroll away. You will be spoiled for choice with great restaurants nearby in both the inner-city and in North Hobart.

North Hobart, especially the trendy mid-town area, has become one of Hobart’s most vibrant and eclectic neighborhoods, well-known for its unique blend of historic charm and contemporary culture. Centered around Elizabeth Street, this area is dotted with a mix of cafes, boutique shops, bars, and artisanal food spots, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.

The mid-town section, stretching from the Hobart CBD towards North Hobart, is a hotspot for food lovers. You'll find an array of eateries offering everything from classic Australian fare to international cuisines like Italian, Thai, Japanese, and Mexican. Several restaurants in mid-town embrace a farm-to-table approach, spotlighting Tasmania’s fresh, local produce.

The bar scene is lively, with everything from laid-back pubs to sophisticated cocktail lounges, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. North Hobart's local arts culture is also thriving, with murals, street art, and independent galleries adding character to the area. Getting Around:
To get around North Hobart and the mid-town area, walking is one of the best options. The main stretch along Elizabeth Street is compact and easy to navigate, with most cafes, shops, and attractions just a short stroll apart. Walking also gives you a chance to soak in the atmosphere, enjoy the street art, and pop into any inviting spots you see along the way.

Public transportation is also readily available. Metro buses run frequently from Hobart’s CBD to North Hobart, making it simple to get there without a car. The ride is quick, and the bus stops are conveniently located near the popular areas in mid-town.

If you prefer the flexibility of driving, there is street parking in the area, though it can be limited during peak times. There are a few dedicated parking lots nearby that provide additional space if you plan to spend a longer time exploring. Rideshares and taxis are also common and easy to find, giving you a convenient option for traveling short distances or getting back to your accommodation after a night out.

Great Stay

This place was a cute place in Hobart walking distance from sundays market & cafes! Perfect for our family as we had little ones with us!

Late night music made our stay intolerable

We are extremely disappointed with our stay at this property. The listing states: “This property is located centrally and as such noise from the street, bars and restaurants can at times be heard. We have measures in place to try to remedy this as much as possible but please take this into account when booking and do not book if you think this will impact your stay.”While this disclaimer sounds reasonable, it severely underestimates the actual noise issue. The bar directly underneath the property plays loud music well into the early hours of the morning. On our second night, the music continued until about 2:30am. Despite assurances from the bar manager that the noise would cease by midnight on subsequent nights, the music continued well past midnight on both Sunday and Monday. We had to contact the police on three separate occasions to get the bar to stop playing music.The music was so loud it felt as if it were inside the apartment, making it impossible to sleep. We were unable to enjoy the property at all during the days the bar was open.We are seeking a refund for the nights we were disrupted (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). The listing is false, misleading, and deceptive, and may breach Australian Consumer Law regarding false or misleading representations. The listing should be updated to accurately reflect the noise issue. This stay was a complete failure, and we will not be returning or recommending this property.
