Perfect home in the heart of HILO!

Check in was easy, home was close and easy to access. Cute quiet neighborhood. Loved the comfort of this home, great equipped kitchen, washer and dryer on property, beds are so comfortable. Home was clean but not too "Fancy". Would rent again!

Central location to all of the places we wanted to experience; very spacious and included all the items we needed to use for our short stay. We also appreciate the early check -in which made our schedule on Day 1 perfect!

Awesome Second Stay

Needed a last minute place to stay while visiting family. Remembered we stayed at this location in 2022 and loved it! Booked it and within days we were checked in and extremely comfortable. Always cozy and clean. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Mahalo, Thom!

Home away from home

Loved this place. House was very clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. Neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. Loved sitting outside at night and stargazing. Would definitely rent this house again.

Great place!

This house was a great place for our 3-day visit to Hilo and the east side of the Big Island. The location is great, and easy to find. The house had everything we needed, and gave us a good sleep and start/end to our days. We didn't spend much time there during the day, as we were out seeing the volcano, driving to the south end of the island, and looking around Hilo. We had a wonderful visit.

Feel like a local!

This property made me feel like what it would feel like to be a local. It's an older Hawaiian house in a well kept, quiet neighborhood. I liked the big widows we kept open and a few mornings hearing the rain was so soothing. It was a relaxing place for my family after long days sightseeing. I appreciated the driveway and covered parking since it rained quite a bit during our stay. We had a great time here! Thank you!

From okay to GREAT!

When we first arrived, I wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in this house but I soon grew to love being here. We had a staycation in Hilo and loved it. My favorite moment was when a waitress at Hawaiian Style Cafe told me to bring my Tupperware next time to pack my leftovers. So I'm guessing staying in a residential area made me look and feel like a local! Also, I know that many people commended THOM for all he did to make our stay even better.

Very convenient Hilo house

Quiet neighborhood, with quick and convenient access to Downtown Hilo and neighboring areas. This is an older home, with some cool, unique touches. Very good airflow. The house is a little musty when closed up, but cleared out quickly with the windows. Nice yard, with a cozy table area off from the kitchen. Good kitchen for cooking in, and a nice dining area. Very comfortable for our family.

We had a great stay in this lovely Hawaiian home on a quiet street minutes from everything we wanted to do in Hilo. The house had huge windows and a great breeze even though it was a raining several days of our visit. The beds and furniture were tasteful and comfortable with large rooms. The back yard had a wall of vegetation which made it private and so quiet. Covered parking was really appreciated in the rain. Thom was so kind and offered insight and advice about the Big Island. He was flexible about check in and check out.

The day I arrived to the property, the Host did not contact me nor give me the Lockbox code. I could not get a hold of the Host after repeatedly trying on Evolve, via the VRBO website. I could not contact the Host directly because i did not receive any of the Host's contact info. It was Evolve who texted me the lockbox code &contact information for the Host, not the Host! I did not recieve any info from the Host until I logged onto the house wifi. After i could use wifi, the text from the Host was received. This Host needs to learn why his texts arent being received using data, are only received thru wifi & to connect to Evolve, why is the Host independent of Evolve? Makes it difficult in situations such as mine. The house is spacious & could use an update, older bedding, a little mold here & there, mold on the ceiling in bathroom. However, it was nice & spacious & the property was big & well kept.

Disappointing

The home is stylish on the pictures, although in reality the place is really old and needs maintenance Carpets are stained and smelly, kitchen has insects defecation on almost all of then. Bathroom doesn't makes it better. The bed mattress are ok, but again bedsheets are stained and the rooms does not smell good. Everything is in bad shape and from the pictures you would not except it. We were very disappointed by this rental.
