We're Bark Point Ventures — a local team that lives and works right here on Wisconsin's Lake Superior South Shore. Camp Clover is one of our favorites, and we want your stay to feel as special as the cabin itself. We keep things low-key and contactless by default, but we're always a quick message or call away if you need anything. Camp Clover is in Herbster, one of the three South Shore communities along the west side of the Bayfield peninsula. We're based in Herbster so we might be a little biased, but we think Herbster beach is the best on this whole stretch of Lake Superior--and it's just two minutes away from the cabin! Herbster also has a restaurant, and if you're here with pups or you need to do some serious relaxing (or both), check out Wags & Wine, our own dog-friendly wine shop.

The other South Shore towns, Port Wing to the west and Cornucopia to the east, are both close by, both with their own beaches. Port Wing has an awesome coffee shop that roasts its own beans (we stock them in the cabin) and a convenience store with a fish counter. You can also see remnants of the boreal forest that once covered this stretch of lakeshore. Cornucopia (or ‘Corny' as the locals call it) has an excellent coffee shop, a general store, and a few restaurants and shops.

Bayfield is close by, too, about 45 minutes’ drive: perfect to check out the attractions over there then return to your South Shore oasis for another Superior sunset. Ashland, where you’ll find more stores and amenities, is just under an hour away. Duluth and Superior are about and hour and a quarter to the west.

You'll have access to the entire cabin during your stay. The garage and small cabin for the owners will be locked, but feel free to explore the woods!

Get ready for grown-up summer camp at Camp Clover! This is an absolute classic Northwoods cabin: log walls, fieldstone fireplace and hearth, and the feeling of stepping back in time.

Make your way through the charming entryway (take a seat on the bench to pull off your shoes) and into the living room. We love how this space feels open, with exposed beams and skylights, but still cozy and intimate. This is a room for all seasons: cool in summer, warm and snug when it's cold--and if you need to take the edge off of a chilly night, the gas fireplace with its awesome fieldstone hearth is just the thing. Grab a book off the shelf and unwind a little.

When it's mealtime, you'll love the kitchen. It's an efficient galley-style setup, with up-to-date appliances: full-size refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and last but not least a dishwasher--no one is on dish duty at this summer camp! It functions perfectly, but it's also a beautiful space in its own right, with glowing wood and stone countertops. Just off the kitchen you'll find the dining nook, with chairs to seat five, plus a bench that fits at least two more.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own character, but they all share the same timeless feel as the rest of the cabin. Drift off to sleep on a cool Northwoods breeze, jut like people have been doing for generations. Whichever bedroom you choose, you'll find a quiet space that's perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the South Shore. Sleeps up to six across the three bedrooms.

The bathroom is clean and bright, with a shower and up-to-date fixtures all around. There's also a water and dryer: perfect for longer stays and outdoor adventures.

Like any good cabin should, Camp Clover has some perfect outdoor spaces: there's a fire pit with seating for the whole crew, plus an own for whatever antics you can come up with. If you're in the mood for outdoor dining, we've got you covered--literally--with a grill and a unique covered outdoor dining area.

And last but absolutely not least is the barrel sauna, the perfect way to relax after a day of adventure. It's electric, so all you need to do is set the temperature and relax.

Camp Clover is very dog-friendly! We love canine guests, and they love it too: there's plenty of room to roam around the cabin, and acres of woods to sniff! Lots of South Shore adventures are perfect with pups, starting with Herbster Beach right down the road.

A car is the way to go — the South Shore is best explored at your own pace, and the distances are short. From Camp Clover, Herbster Beach is about 2 minutes, Port Wing's beaches around 10 minutes, Cornucopia roughly 10 minutes, the Meyers Beach sea caves about 20 minutes, and Bayfield around 25–30 minutes. Duluth/Superior and their regional airport are approximately 1 hour to the west.
