Romantic High Street Old Town Cottage
Oyster Cottage is your haven & seaside retreat. Based a stones throw away from the bustling Old Town and trending High Street but reclused enough to be the perfect escape.
Whether you're attending one of our many festivals or in town for a family gathering or simply want somewhere to relax and enjoy the sea air then Oyster Cottage is your home away from home. Newely renovated and completed with such passion and artistic design. You'll find everything you need for your stay
Oyster cottage entrance is in the main High Street. The entrance is nestled up small gated twitten (/alleyway, old Sussex dialect word) which you follow up to the front door before the set of steps. Upon arrival you would have been sent pre check in information including your key-safe code.
You enter into the cosy dining and kitchen space which is complete with many cooking utensils and a fridge with a small freezer space. Up the first set of stairs and you are in the lounge complete with log burner. The doorway to the right is the spacious and light bathroom which leads through to the final staircase to the top master bedroom.
Please note this is a unique, old, period property so the stair cases are small and narrow, the space is quaint and cosy & there are sloping ceilings.
Babies and non walkers are welcome but we do not feel the property is suitable for toddlers due to the stairs and their position.
The master bed is a low Japanese style wooden double with a sloping ceiling to one side.
Oyster cottage wouldn’t be an old town property if it wasn’t pet friendly so please feel free to bring your furry companions along. Our whole Old Town is extremely pet friendly. We do ask that you bring your own blankets to cover the sofa with and any towels required to dry them in wet weather. We do have a small patio space they’re also welcome in but please ask that you remove any mess left prior to departure.
If you want to know more about the Old Town Twittens then look online for the twitten & ghost walks of Hastings Old Town. They’re great to learn local knowledge, stories and have fun.
