Fun Downtown Location 2nd flr

A stylish comfortable well appointed apartment in a 125 year old 2 family home. A Back yard with a picnic table, fire pit, hammock and other seating surrounded by perennial gardens and flower pots. All only steps away from a quaint New England Downtown with a few dozen restaurants, bars, and entertainment. Including a brewery, arcade bar, axe throwing, escape room, coffee roaster and chocolate shop. As well as art spaces, a Homestead museum, rails to trails and several fairs and festivals. Located in the center of the state you have easy access all Connecticut has to offer. In an hour15 to 2 hours you can take a day trip to NYC, Boston, The Cape, Berkshire mountains, Providence and New Port RI. The whole first floor is it depicted in the pictures, they will be made available as soon as the rooms are done.
Less than 10 minutes to Lake compounds amusement park, Bear Creek camp ground, ESPN and Mount Southington. Centrally located in the center of the state, 30 minutes from Hartford or New Haven. Less than two hours to NYC, Boston, Cape Cod Providence or Newport, RI beaches. Or is history or thing enjoy all that the constitution state has to offer or you can just enjoy the back yard with a picnic table, plenty of seating and a comfortable hammock.

This was the perfect space for our family. I read reviews about the steep steps and small bathroom but neither were a problem for us. Everything was clean, it was well stocked and the host was responsive prior to our trip. I did not have to contact himnduring the trip for anything.

A Great Place to Stay

Spacious, clean and well appointed. Three generous bedrooms and a large kitchen. Weather was too cold to use it, but the enclosed porch is lovely. Several new appliances, very clean linens.

Just like home

This place is amazing. It has just such a homey feel to it. My 2 year son and I stayed here and he absolutely loved it and to me it just felt like a nice comfort, home environment and when you’re traveling that’s all you really want is a place that makes you feel at home and that’s what you get when you stay here.

Close to everything, spacious

This property is a remodeled older house. With all that old house charm. It is spacious and has three bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The couch is extremely comfortable and it was great watching TV and sipping wine.

Incredible Location, Friendly Host

Me and some friends were staying here to help with another friends’ wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! All of the appliances worked well, the place was clean and well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. Host was incredibly kind and friendly, and recommended multiple spots to visit. Apple Harvest Festival

We visited Southington for the Apple harvest festival. This was a perfect location, walking distance to everything dealing with the festival. Great barbecue joint across the street. Jim, the host was great very friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice place in downtown Southington

We had a rocky check in but once that was sorted out the stay was very nice (the owner forgot to send us the code to access the unit and could not be reached for about two hours, but did apologize for this and made sure we were alright). It’s an older building with a floor plan to match. It was in good condition, clean, air conditioned and in a safe location with off-street parking. The kitchen and bedrooms are decently stocked, including some basic toiletries and extra linens. The unit is located right in the downtown of Southington within perfect walking distance of restaurants and local businesses. Once we got checked in we enjoyed our stay.

Just what we needed

A nice 3 bedroom place that was a perfect fit for our family visit. Jim was helpful and quick to communicate. Close to restaurants and an easy drive to stores and nearby towns. The stairs were steep, and one bathroom for 6 people was not ideal, but otherwise a great find!

Positive ‱ Clean ‱ Host available, friendly. Even gave my wife fresh-cut flowers. ‱ Host was flexible when unanticipated additional guests showed up. (We were in town for a funeral.) ‱ Full kitchen ‱ Three bedrooms, two “living rooms”. ‱ Washer/dryer (new) ‱ Smoke and CO detectors Neutral – Not negative, just information ‱ Old New England 2-family home (build circa 1900) and build in that style. ‱ Floors have settled and are wavy and creaky ‱ Adequate parking ‱ Close to the old town center with the town green and shops. Quaint and accessible but some (not bad) traffic. ‱ Consistent with old New England homes, electrical outlets are sparse and extension cords and power straps are used. Host said the electrical system in house had been updated to modern standards but that the update did not include additional outlets. ‱ Furnishings and dĂ©cor are very eclectic. ‱ 2nd floor walk-up. This is in the property description and was known at booking. Negatives ‱ Steep stairs. We are at or near 70 years of age and it was not a real issue for us. However, if you have weak legs or knees or other mobility issues it could be an issue, especially when making multiple trips with luggage or groceries. Our host, Jim, did graciously help with carrying luggage up the stairs and offered to again help after we had gone grocery shopping. Would I recommend?: Yes, if you are accepting of the nuances and character of the property.

Southington

Nice space with 3 roomy bedrooms. Plenty of storage for clothes. Bathroom is small but not untypical of this era home. Steps to second floor are steep, so consider this. Kitchen has what you need for a short stay.
