I was very disappointed by the lack of transparency during my stay. I traveled from Louisiana for a concert and carefully budgeted for gas, food, and my hotel. My room was around $390, and based on past hotel stays, I expected incidental fees to be around $30 per night (about $90 total). Instead, I was charged an $80 per night incidental hold, totaling $240. While I understand incidental holds are standard, $80 per night is excessive, and there was no clear explanation of why it was so high or proper communication before check-in. To make matters worse, I received conflicting information about valet pricing and ended up paying an additional $165 for three nights. Between the room, incidental hold, and valet, I unexpectedly needed access to over $600, which significantly impacted my travel budget and prevented me from fully enjoying my trip as planned. Communication was also poor. The phone in our room didn’t work, and when we tried calling the hotel from our personal phones, no one answered, making it difficult to get assistance. I don’t mind hotels having incidental holds or parking fees, but guests deserve full transparency before arriving. Had these costs been clearly disclosed, I could have budgeted accordingly or chosen another hotel. Unfortunately, because of the hidden costs, poor communication, and lack of transparency, I will not be staying here again.
