Some good - some bad
There were no reviews written about this place, so it's important people know what they are getting with this rental.The good parts of this property are very good. The views of the uncrowded and peaceful lake and deck are outstanding. Access to the kayaks and boating is wonderful also, but algae prevents swimming directly from the dock.As for the bad, the house was cleaned - very superficially. There were spiderwebs in virtually every corner, ants on the kitchen counter, sticky residue on the dining table and look behind furniture at your own peril. The table on the deck - probably the nicest place here, was covered with ants and bird excrement.The little cottage is very rustic. A musty smell pervades the place, especially the carpet. Everything is quite old. The kitchen may have been modern during the Eisenhower administration, bathroom shower is an old metal cube also probably from the 50s. The mattresses are small, squishy and ancient. All in all, the deck and lake frontage are so good, this could be a good rental if they were to replace a couple of mattresses, deal with the odor, and most importantly thoroughly clean!
