WATERFRONT HOME - Gorgeous Views of Bayou Bernard at Mermaid Landing



Enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the wrap-around porch. Fishing from private pier. Boat launch for small watercraft (kayaks, jet skis, skiffs). The Biloxi and Tchoutacabouffa Rivers converge on the North side of Big Lake at Grasshopper Island(2nm). Launch for larger vessels conveniently located just around the corner about 1 nm. Direct access to the Gulf of Mexico is just 9 nm from the property. The barrier islands of Horn and Ship are located 12 - 15 nm offshore once you reach the Gulf. Grocery stores and Restaurants just around the corner. Shopping, Gulf Beaches, Casinos, Terrific Golf Courses and Family Attractions are all just minutes away. Perfect for a family vacation or romantic get away.

The spacious kitchen and living area affords a 180 degree view of the water from inside. The kitchen appliances have been replaced with Whirlpool's latest offerings as of May 2025. Relax and enjoy your favorite shows on the large screen TV from the source of your choice (stream your personal account, Direct TV and BluRay player provided).

The kitchen is equipped with microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishwasher and all cooking utensils, including pots and skillets, that you might need. Plates, glasses and flatware are included as well.

Each of the three bedrooms have TVs as well. There is also a day room with a futon for the children to have their own space for napping, indoor playing, gaming etc. The master bedroom has a private bath with walk-in shower and closet. The other two bedrooms and the day room share a bath with a Jacuzzi Style Tub and walk-in closet.

We have been asked many times but I am sorry to say that there isn't a fire pit. While the view is fantastic, the winds are a bit strong at times for a fire pit. However, there are fire pits along the Mississippi Gulf Coast (only 2 miles from the property) that can be reserved at the site below. Please be advised that this is a coastal property and is subject to casual flooding of the yard in the case of strong South by Southeast winds during storms and fronts on the Gulf of Mexico. These situations are not a daily occurrence but may happen during stormy conditions. It is always our intent to monitor and advise the best that we can when these situations are predicted by the local weather authorities.

Our stay here was great! The location was perfect — close to the event but still quiet enough to relax and fish after long day. The property was spotless, cozy, and had all the little touches that made it feel like home. The host was amazing — super responsive and made check-in simple and stress-free. We’ll definitely be booking this place again for our trip next year. Highly recommended!

This spot is perfect! We enjoyed amazing sunset and sunrise views. Caught a few fish. Kayak freindly!! Especially fishing from your kayak. Convient to the beach, bayou, attractions, and it gives you a place away from the beach to unwind. The owner, Jimmy, was very friendly and checked in multiple times during our stay. His suggestions were spot on. Lil' Ray's for Po' Boys did not disappoint as he assured us they would not! We enjoyed our week and would gladly book this place in the future!

It was the most pleasant stay that I've ever had, from the check in to the checkout. The owner was very, very friendly, he stayed in contact and made our stay very pleasant. The home is very spacious. The location is very convenient, especially if you love fishing and crabbing. You can't go wrong by choosing this location for your stay!!!!!

The house was wonderful. We caught a lot of crabs. The home has a nice kitchen and comfy beds. There were many things in the living room for the kids to play with. It was worth the stay, even though we had to drive a bit to get to the beach. The owner was also very nice!

Don’t hesitate… just book it!

By far the best experience we have had! We travel as friends very often from local vacations to oversees adventures. The communication with Jimmy was better than we had hoped for. He truly cares about his guests and made sure we had an amazing weekend. Mermaids Landing is exactly as pictured with many extra bonuses… the boat access was exactly what we were looking for but a weekend without a boat would have been just as great! The local bars and restaurants were definitely a plus! We will definitely be back many, many times!

We had a wonderful stay at the bayou. Mr. Jimmy was amazing and available at a phone call. The house was great. We enjoyed fishing from the dock. Caught many different fish. Check in and out was a breeze. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect place to catch fish and crab 10 steps away

We loved how neat everything was well placed. The host was messaging us throughtout our visit to see if we were comfortable. My husband and kids love fishing. We had so mush fun and loved how close everything was for the kids. Good restaurants and stores nearby.. we hope to come back again.

Family vacation

Was a wonderful stay! House was very clean lots of space. The kids loved swimming off the doc. An big please every night at sun down fish were swimming ready to be hooked. Lots of red fish catfish gars even cought crabs. Definitely recommend this to couples or familys. We watch beautiful sun rises an sun sets on the balcony. The owner freshly cut grass for us before we got there an checked in on us by text to see if we needed anything. Wonderful place to go an will do it again!!

My family ad I had such a great time! Mr. Jimmy had everything we could possibly need at Mermaid Landing. My brother and his wife made it to Mermaid Landing before i did and When I pulled in the driveway , I asked him what did he think about the property... he said "I'm ready to come back already!" We love it here! Its peaceful. We had a great time crabbing and fishing. We caught so many 🦀 crabs, we had a crab boil! And a fish fry! Mr Jimmy was very accommodating and friendly. We are ready to return in the fall! If you book a stay at Mermaid Landing,You will not be disappointed.

Guys in my Family Yearly Fishing Trip

We had a wonderful time. This place is tied with our favorite VRBO stay in Biloxi and that house is twice the price a night. We could tie our boat (21ft whaler) to the whips in the small canal and our jet skis up to the other side of the property (You will need some bigger bumpers). The boat launch beside the house was great for a little double jet ski trailer. The marina is about a half mile up the bay for a larger boat ramp, fueling toys was easy and convenient. Air conditioning worked great along with everything else in the house. Jimmy was very responsive and helpful with any questions. You will not regret your stay in Jimmy's VRBO. Also, there is a light on the dock that brings up fish. My Boys had a blast catching trout out at night on artificial bait.

Absolutely beautiful view!

My boyfriend and I just spent TEN days here, and we loved it! We came with plans to get away from the world for a while, and for him to go fishing and visit some friends he hadn't seen in years. This home is clean, spacious, the kitchen is pretty well stocked with everything you need to cook. We had great weather, HOT days, and a few stormy days. The views for every type of day were just amazing. The fans on the deck come in handy. Have bug spray. The only real complaint is the yard and the issues with tides filling the ENTIRE culdesac and most of the yard. To the point that several times if we had not been in a truck we would not have been able to come in or go out of the spot under the house. If you have a regular car it could present a problem and that is the only reason I mention that part. I feel like it should be mentioned in the description. Also, because of the way the yard is flooding the grass is really messed up, and you will get your feet wet if you want to go down the steps ftom the house to the dock. Children really have no yard to play in because of the water or the damaged grass if you hoped for that. Both of those issues might be time of the year related though. Sadly fishing from the dock proved impossible, night time there are tons of gar fish that hang around. Day time he was only catching catfish or crabs. But saying all of that, we do already know that we will definitely book here again. Jimmy is helpful, and we truly enjoyed our time!

Amazing Waterfront Lakehouse

We have been vacationing at the Mermaid Landing since it became available on VBRO. It has not ever been a disappointment. It’s the perfect location for quiet time with the family. But close enough to get the full experience with the beach and casinos! Enjoyed sitting out on the porch listening to the birds chirping and watching the fish jump in the lake. Mr. Jimmy is very kind and helpful. Always available if you need something. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. My husband and family come here every year since it became available and plan on going back again next year!

Absolutely PERFECT!!!!!

WOW! This house was what it said it was and much more. The house is very spacious and had plenty of space for our group of 5, but could hold many more. We woke up Thanksgiving morning and the DISH Network was out of order and Mr. Jimmy had the company there to ensure we were not inconvenienced by this outage nor missed one second of football. This was one of our most memorable Thanksgivings we've had and renting Mr. Jimmy's house is what made it such a perfect holiday with family. I can't wait to return and we are already trying to plan our next trip to stay here again, and hopefully this will be an annual event. Also, the home is conveniently located to stores and restaurants and a short drive to the casinos in Biloxi. It's also a short drive to Ocean City which is a MUST SEE!!!!!! We rented a golf cart for my elderly mother to comfortably ride along the light lined streets and we enjoyed all of the small shops and boutiques along the main street and we enjoyed delicious food. The wide array of food choices was crazy and had something for everyone and all of the people we encountered along the strip were so friendly and appreciative for our visit. Thank you Mr. Jimmy for allowing us to celebrate our Thanksgiving at your home. This was our first holiday after the loss of my step father to Covid just 2 months ago and my mother's first holiday without him here to celebrate, so it was a special holiday in a special home! Thank you Mr. Jimmy!
