« Lovely room at the Royal Oak, perfect for a quick stay. Bed was comfy and shower was good, what more could you ask for! Pub was not open Sunday evening, so we didn't get to eat here, but heard that the food is very good. No breakfast in morning, but lots of options in Cartmel so wasn't an issue. Would recommend. »

« The hotel is beautiful from the outside and located in such a picturesque area but the room we got was a disappointment. Located on the first floor and tucked in a corner, it did not match the pictures on the site and looked rather old (except for the bathroom), with an uncomfortably slumping mattress. « Lovely place to stay, beautiful countryside. Francesca and Pete made us feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. Nothing we asked for was too much for them to sort out. The room was amazing, clean and spacious - everything that we needed was there and more, great night sleep - bed was really comfortable. The bar area was amazing.
