Welcome to Eagles Dwelling, a four season mountain retreat. Each season has something special to offer at this wooded oasis. This is the most perfect place for an outdoor adventure or a quiet retreat; a mountain top getaway for the whole family.

Nestled on top of Great North Mountain, surrounded by wineries and ski resorts (Bryce and Whitetail are 39 miles away), you will never want to leave. This charming cabin is ideal for quiet walks through the forest, outdoor meditation, relaxing in a hot tub while taking in forever views, getting a massage in front of the sun setting, practicing at the shooting range, or sitting in the infrared sauna and cooling off in the outdoor shower. Kids can climb trees, search for tadpoles in the pond or build forts and enjoy the perfect s’mores while sitting in front of the bonfire.

While experiencing this ideal oasis, it is difficult to leave for exploration with the amount of activities on and around the property. For the adventurous types, there is skiing, swimming, hiking, shooting, horseback riding, ATV riding, and/or weekend winery tours! History buffs can explore one of many nearby historical landmarks or museums. Depending on your group structure (couples, children, or friends) the home can sleep up to 6 guests. Please ask if you need to accommodate a large party and are unsure. This secluded cabin is beautifully decorated and fully furnished with everything you need to enjoy your stay. You will never want to leave this sanctuary.

Whether you’re in town to sample fine wine or explore the beauty of the Mountains, the cabin is perfectly positioned for you to try it all! After days spent skiing, traversing through National Parks, exploring Historical Landmarks and Museums, or taking a Jeep excursion at The Cove (Take your ATV out out on some of their amazing tracks!), head back to make memories on the deck with loved ones under a blanket of stars!

POOL SEASON 2024: Memorial Day (May 24) through Sept 8 September.

We will close the hot tub around May 24. The reason being is it is too much work for both to stay open at the same time, along with the maintenance and the extra fees required. Thank you for your understanding.

INDOOR LIVING FEATURES:
TOP FLOOR: Master Bedroom: King Size Bed, Queen Size Pullout Bed, Loft: Queen Size Mattress Pad (preferably for kids), Full Bath

Upstairs, the master suite has a King sized bed with a forever view, a large Queen sized sleeper sofa, soaking tub in a full bathroom (with a shower with pressure that will change your life) and a reading nook with the same views. There is a cozy loft with a very soft Queen size Mattress Pad preferably for kids.

MAIN FLOOR: - Bedroom 2: Queen Bed with optional Twin size rollaway, Bedroom 3: Queen Bed with optional Twin size rollaway, Washer/Dryer, Full Bath, Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room

KITCHEN: Fully equipped with cooking basics, stainless steel appliances, Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee machine, Instant Pot, dishware/flatware, hot water pot, ice maker, spices, toaster oven, barstool seating, and a dining room surrounded by windows.

The main floor consists of a bright, cozy, and open living room with two floors of cathedral windows, wood beams, large comfortable leather sofas, cabin furniture, a dining room next to a fully stocked kitchen (great for holiday cooking), and laundry room. There are two beautifully decorated large bedrooms with Queen size beds, Twin size rollaways (in the closets for optional use), and a shared full bathroom on this floor. Every room in the house has an incredible view, and all but one on the main floor is accessed by a Trex wraparound deck and luxury patio furniture, umbrellas, and cushions.

BOTTOM FLOOR: Large Open Space with 1 Queen Size Sleeper Pullout Bed on Main Floor, Bunk Bed with two twin size mattresses, Sunken Family Room: 1 Full Size Sleeper Pullout Bed, Large Stone Wet Bar, and Large Stone Fireplace, Half Bath

The lower level has a large open rec room with an optional conference room or event area, a massage table and large stone wet bar. It has a sunken gathering area in front of a large stone fireplace, and one Queen size sleeper pullout bed and one Full size pullout sleeper on this floor, and a bunk bed with two Twin size beds, and a half bath. There are a large variety of inspirational DVD’s, games, puzzles, books, a kids corner with pens, crayons, and markers for coloring, popcorn maker for all of the fun movie nights, and access to WIFI. Enjoy the fireplace, a nice glass of wine and the amazing sunset at the end of a full day exploring this rich area.

GENERAL: Free upgraded WiFi (up to 50 mg/sec), complimentary toiletries, linens, towels, hair dryer, iron/board, laundry detergent, trash bags/paper towels and firewood is provided for the indoor fireplace as well. Please note: There is no cable TV, but many DVDs to choose from. All areas have access to wireless for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. accounts on your tablets or phones.

PARKING: Roundabout Driveway good for 8-9 vehicles

ACCESSING THE CABIN: The drive to this serene mountaintop location is beautiful. The last turns onto Cordwood Drive and Shickle Lane are a little steep at parts and there are a few bumps in the road (which has been redone since last season) but they add to the experience. During certain seasons, there may be a need to have 4WD to get to the top. If you do not have this capability, please let us know in advance. There is parking at the bottom of the hill.

NOTE: Due to local wildlife, food and trash should not be left outside of the trash can.

POLICIES: Please be respectful of the property, the neighborhood, neighbors and follow these policies:
- No smoking or drugs allowed
- Max of 2 small/medium dogs/cats allowed with a non-refundable pet deposit required for wear and tear and extra cleaning. (Furry family members are not allowed on furniture.) The property is not fenced in and therefore recommended to leash animals.
- Must be at least 25 years old to book
- Photo ID may be required upon check-in
- 3 Day Minimum for Holidays
- Must drive 10mph on mountain rd.
-The shooting range it at your own risk. All Federal and Virginia firearm and range laws are to be followed. the range is open from 10-6PM every day and can be used for a maximum of 2 total hours per day.
