« An excellent and typically quaint English pub. It has it's own micro-brewery too. Charming en-suite accomodation and very hearty breakfast. The 'full Yorkshire breakfast' is highly recommended. »

« Perfect location in the centre of town and near to all the amenities (as well as the start and end of our walk - the main reason for going). Staff friendly, bedroom quiet, clean and comfortable and an excellent breakfast thrown in. We also had an evening meal here which again was very good and a reasonable price. Would come again »

« Cashed in some one key points for night away . Took the scenic route from Gateshead and visited Richmond , Aysgarth Falls , Grassington and Thirsk on the way .
Had a couple of beers in the beer garden , freshened up then a gorgeous meal in the orangery.
So glad we had booked as they were turning people away !
The staff were excellent- friendly , courteous and attentive.
Lovely relaxing night away , helped by the English heatwave . »

« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that havenât been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »
