Glenbeigh and its surrounding areas offer a wide variety of walking routes from quiet country roads to coastal areas to The Kerry Way and the ascent of Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil. Perched high above Caragh Lake lies the natrally beautiful district of Glencar which is a popilar section of the Kerry Way Walking Route. It also offers some of the most picturesque picnic areas imaginable.

We stayed at Castle View House for a family wedding nearby, and it was truly the perfect home away from home for the occasion. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warmth, comfort, and stunning beauty of the surroundings.
The house itself is spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully presented — every room felt thoughtfully prepared with high-quality touches that made it feel extra special. The views are nothing short of breathtaking, with a picture-perfect panorama of the castle ruins and sea that added a magical backdrop to our weekend.
It was the ideal base for our extended family — plenty of room for everyone to relax, gather, and get ready for the celebrations. We especially loved the peaceful mornings with coffee outside, and the calm after the festivities each evening.
The location was brilliant — close to Rossbeigh Beach, Glenbeigh village, and convenient for all the wedding venues. Our host was incredibly helpful and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed and more.
Castle View House made an unforgettable weekend even more memorable. We’d return in a heartbeat — whether for another special occasion or simply to unwind in one of the most beautiful corners of Kerry.
