Beautifully Remodeled Cottage on Otsego Lake! Amazing Sunsets!! 2 Kayaks!

This cottage will make you feel instantly at home. From the new kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, to the custom walk-in shower with in-floor heat, everything has been upgraded .Then to make things even better, the sunsets and views are amazing! Within walking distance to two of the best restaurants in Gaylord! Right on the snowmobile trail for winter enjoyment and the bike/walking trail in the summer. Also, right on Otsego Lake with your own patio and dock to use at your leisure. This location cannot be beat!

Every room has been beautifully remodeled and redecorated.

The kitchen has granite counter tops and brand new stainless steel appliances. The kitchen does have a dishwasher so you don't have to worry about hand washing dishes on vacation.

The bathroom has a beautiful, custom walk-in shower with stunning glass tile and heated floors throughout the bathroom and shower! There is a heating fan to keep you nice and warm while getting ready. You won't want to leave this beautifully appointed bathroom!

The main floor bedroom has a hotel quality, comfortable queen size mattress. Also, on the main floor the living room couch pulls out to a sleeper sofa that can fit up to two people comfortably. There is a main floor flat screen if watching tv is your thing.

The upstairs boasts a large 60" flat screen tv. There is an extremely comfortable Tempur-Pedic full size mattress for our guests to enjoy. Also, there is a trundle bed that has two twin size mattresses. The steps to the upstairs are a bit steep so our older guests and probably the tinier guests may want to consider claiming the main floor bedroom.

There is a washer and dryer on the main floor.

The best thing about this cottage (besides it's beautiful interior) is the lake and sunset views. The sunsets here will take your breath away! There is an outdoor patio with a propane grill for our guests to use. The dock is also a major advantage.

You can fish or sunbathe right off the dock. The bottom is sandy and shallow until the end of the dock.

You will not be disappointed with all of the upgrades that this home has to offer...it's a cozy cottage with a location that just can't be beat! And the sunsets views will have you coming back year after year!

Loved our stay! Cottage was clean and well stocked and perfect for our family of four! We loved the sandy shoreline, kayaks, and dock. The windows made the sunset views beautiful even from inside the house. Would definitely come back!

Great Stay on Otsego Lake

We booked our stay at the last minute and I’m so glad we chose this place! The kitchen is beautifully updated, the shower is amazing and the sunset views are spectacular! We could see the fireworks without the loud bangs! Easy check in and out as well.

Winter wonderland picture perfect holiday vacation

We stayed for the week between Christmas and next years we were blessed with fresh snow and good weather. Sling nearby had perfect conditions. Location was great for us. Near all needed items but remote enough to have a getaway. The view of the lake covered in snow was awesome to wake up to every morning

Relaxing View!

The property was clean and as described. The only thing I would add is that the stairs are very steep for old folks going to the restroom at night. Upstairs is the perfect place for a bunch of kids. Owner was communicative and helpful. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck looking out over the lake. Nice spot.

Great Lakeside Vacation

We had a great week enjoying the lake's beautiful views and sunsets. The cottage is updated with a really nice modern kitchen and bath. We rented the pontoon boat for the week and did lots of tubing, wakeboarding and fishing. There's restaurants and shopping nearby. Wonderful vacation :)

Family Vacation

Four adults and one 4 year old grandson had a wonderful summer vacation. It started with two days of rain but it was not a problem, we had a beautiful cottage to hang out in and play games. Then with several days of sunshine, we enjoyed the sandy beach, looking for skipping stones and shells, swimming, sunbathing and boating. The deck was perfect for eating outside or relaxing with a book. The kitchen, (storage, refrigerator and misc supplies) was great and made preparing food on vacation a joy. We brought our bikes and really enjoyed the bike trail so close by. The shower was awesome and even the 4 year old thought it was cool! My husband slept better this week than he does at home. We played hard and slept peacefully! We had one issue but the host was readily available and responded immediately and efficiently.

Beware

Beware - we stayed at the property twice this summer. The first time, Shanie reached out the night before asking us to bring a check to pay for the sales tax as according to her, VRBO does not collect taxes - even though this is covered in VRBO clearly in their breakdown. We sent her a copy of the receipt from VRBO showing it was paid and she played it off and said that VRBO said that she needed to send it in. We didn't think much of it at the time and played it off as a simple mistake. She did ask for a review after our stay and we gave a favorable one, despite there being some issues with the property - including cleanliness. We were also given a minimal supplies of a 1/2 roll of toilet paper, two trash bags and two pods to do wash - even though they request to take out the trash and start a load of towels before you leave in the washer. During our communications: Shanie was only polite/nice twice: after we corrected her in the sales tax and when she asked for a positive review in VRBO. Our second stay: we received no communication during our stay from Shanie asking how things were, etc.. Which is fine, but unusual. Every property we have stayed at during out past 9 years, at least someone reaches out and asks how are things at some point. In addition, we were give less than 15% of a roll of paper towel and one trash bag for the duration of our stay - very limited supplies. We also noticed a slew of cleanliness issues around the home, compared to June and the tear in the screen was larger allowing a continued flow of flies in the home. At the culmination of our stay Shanie sent a message to us via VRBO stating there was damage to two items in the home. Mind you, we did not do the damage - additionally, there were several items damaged in the home to begin with, so we didn't think much of it - just the status quo for the property. Shanie filed a exobernant amount for the items via the insurance company for the two items. One for a simple metal frame bed which was wobbly during both of our stays and another for a dent in her dishwasher for a complete replacement. All a scam. Essentially she was just waiting to get money out of us - either this stay or the other or both. So BEWARE: Shanie is a scam artist. DO NOT rent this property. The owner is a pro at the scam game. In addition, she is not the kindness person in communications with us for either stay. Out of 9 years of being on VRBO and our first negative experience.

Friendly, Scenic and Cozy

The service was friendly and kept in contact throughout the stay. The sunsets were stunning and the remodeled common areas were very comfortable. The cleaning service could benefit from a more thorough job; there were cobwebs everywhere, clumps of dust and dirt in corners of rooms and bed assembly had to be completed before we could sleep (we did the assembly). We did have a lovely stay. We strongly recommend this location to others and would stay there again during our annual trip up North.

Enjoyable!

The cottage is really nice and the sunset view is such a treat. There is a small deck and walk way out to the dock. We had a nice, relaxing time! The cleaning crew forgot to vacuum/clean the floors so I did it myself. Also the next door neighbor likes to fly his F***Biden flag which was in our face while we were there. I just wanted a break from political hate during vacation but oh well!

Great Lake House

The lake house was in a great location - close to the city center, easy access to the freeway and most importantly a wonderful spot on the lake. Some takeaways: - Great kitchen and bathroom - all updated. It made it easy to cook in and eat dinner with the family. The bathroom shower was awesome with the rain shower head and heated floor. - Fishing: we caught bass and sunfish each night consistently from the dock using worm lures. - Sunset: great to sit and view it by the fire. - Water access: not much of a beach, but the water was very shallow going out for quite the distance. - Bedrooms: worked well for our family of three. Stairs were a bit narrow and steep, but no worries - just have to focus when going up and down 😀, especially at night when using the bathroom. - Tv/internet: reliable internet and huge tv’s. We didn’t really use the tvs though - after all, the lake and family time is what it is about! - Other items: extra fridge was super handy, parking was a bit of a challenge one night as a result of a big crowd next door, there is a gas grill - but we brought our own as we like charcoal, if you have kids - bring some beach toys etc., the train tracks also are right outside the lake house - traffic was very minimal during our stay, but something to be aware of. A few repairs are needed with door screens etc as well, but it wasn’t an issue. Communication: was always direct, prompt, helpful and appreciated. Overall: great stay and would highly recommend! It is a lovely and updated house and a great place to build memories! Thank you Shanie and family!

Perfect for a family winter weekend!

This cottage on Otsego Lake was ideal for our family of four with 2 teens. The newly renovated cottage is stylish and comfortable. Everything is brand new, including all appliances and the bathroom! Situated directly on the lake, we enjoyed stunning sunsets and scenery. Yet, we were only a few minutes from the snowmobile rentals, Otsego Ski Resort and the restaurants and shopping in Gaylord. Luckily, it was easy to access in winter weather conditions.
